I agree that this would be helpful, but honestly, there are enough visual cue's that this isn't really a huge problem.

Can be when it comes to templars buffs or something like rally, or grim focus from nightblade or whatever else plus its just nice to when they are gonna end so you can get a chance to reapply if needed before a fight or whatever else in pvp, Go hide behind a rock and recast or something, And tbh when in the moment you're not looking at your character for glowing purple hands or your weapon glowing from something, You're busy looking at your enemies health or where they are going. At least an option to toggle it on and off would be great

If you don't have time to look at your character, how can you have time to look at a tiny icon in the corner of the screen?

Some buffs dont show up on your character such as rally and a few other like minor/major berserk or ward or heroism or brutality etc, You get them from casting damage abilities and get them as bonuses and the fact you'll know when to rebuff or recast a certain ability to regain a buff. Rally and quite a few other abilities dont show up on your character after you cast them, Just the animation of you casting them.

I just dont understand why basically every other mmorpg does it but ESO doesnt and these other games are even more skill based and more technical. Just about everyone on pc uses the add-ons for it and I find it very unfair for console players

Other mmorpgs also have an auction house. I think visual indicators of buffs is a fantastic aspect of this game, and I would hate to lose it. I should also clarify that I did originally play this game on PC, and I loath the majority of add-ons. Having the game tell me when my potion or ultimate is ready; or when to execute makes me cringe. You've got a brain; use it.

I'm pretty anti-add on, but I've been forced to use the new ones console was given because everyone else has them.

We don't actually NEED any of this stuff, except to keep up with the people who already have it.

YES PLEASE! It would make all aspects of combat on console so much easier. I for one like playing without my ability bar showing simply because I am comfortable enough with my build to do so...BUT I have no indicator for when my Ult is up, when Dots are finished, when buffs are finished etc. An OPTION TO TOGGLE all of these would help players on console immensely...too bad hairstyles and houses are more important...

    I agree......

Console players also need the ability assign buttons or at the very least more layout options or disable interact with objects while mounted

Edit: Can we at least get a layout option that is same as the standard layout but moves the interact button while mounted or makes it require a press and hold of the X button instead of just tap.

(This born of the frustration of trying to jump while moving at full speed only to dismount to talk to a NPC or harvest a butterfly, so frustrating)

Second bought just open the key indigo program already in game it works wonderfully on my Alienware alpha and Xbox controller, I can assign buttons however I chose and it only affects this game and not all operations of the controller.

Consolebros should have access to mods in general. That or some of the more popular mods should be integrated into the game. It is [CURRENT YEAR] people, a market UI should be able to search by key word or fragment.

As for how it would be displayed; Oblivion did it by having a decreasing bar above the effect icon, and that's really all that's needed. Popular add-ons like Srendarr, FTC and AUI all display them slightly differently, but they're all in-keeping with the UI, and if ZOS used any or all of them for inspiration they'd end up with something good and unintrusive.

    We need these basic features!
Completing the mages guild quest should have unlocked the location of the rest of the books!
That's not a bad idea actually. Similarly, completing the Main Quest or a particular zone's Storyline could unlock locations of Skyshards.

I have to disagree with you here. While yes, every buff has a visual representation, they are not always that obvious or at times look very much alike (i.e. Grim Focus and Siphoning Strikes). And in the heat of a battle it's often hard to see which effects are still active on your chat. So a buff/debuff display would be very helpful.

I think removing the visual indicators of most of the abilities they added for console and putting this feature with a timer would reduce the load on the servers which I think is something that would be greatly appreciated. We all know animations are part of the reason why there is lag.

My brain is telling me thingz people can't fathom, for their own sake, it's good that they don't know.

But my eyes have seen that visual buffs are unreliable. Blade cloak, Shuffle, Boundless storm / Hurricane, Double Take... they can't overlap each other. Even Volatile armor from DK sometimes actually buffs you up, but the effect doesn't appear, as in the ability is visible in your buff bar, but you character doesn't have spikes on his/her back.

The "skill" argument is kinda moot when you can't trust what you have on screen with the base UI.

Obviously we need buffs timers & DPS meter, its a *** MMORPG guys.

All the guys which are saying "we dont need it because it is skill-less" are just people who wants to play a solo-TES.

I saw "its like the ultimate cost you cant read it because you are far from your TV" : clearly not, YOU are far from your TV as a casual player crying on vMA, but lot of people are playing close of the TV because they want to be "in" the game and play really well.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_KaiSchober guuuuuys please add DPS meter & buffs timers for console players in the next majore update.

Im not saying add these type things wear is shows what ability is damaging and what ability is healing etc, Im talking per buffs, Whether its a small box about your stat fars or like the pc add-ons theres a section on the bottom right corner next to your abilities that can show the particular icon for the buff like major ward or heroism or show the actual ability buff like volatile armor, igneous weapons,hurrane/thunder form, Daedric armor, siphoning strikes, grim focus and others etc. Like for example major/minor ward could be a shield cause it buffs your resistances and hypothetically the background for major could be blue and the minor ward could be red. Or again if its like thunder form or igneous weapons or whatever thr buff may he where its an actual ability thats ment to be nothing but a buff it shows that abilities icon on the bottom.

And all these buffs could have either a solid box if its a toggle that stays on, While the buffs that are temporary could have a box that the color ticks or fades away the less time their is left on the buff, Or it could even be the icon with an actual bar next to it that ticks down or whatever the case may be

I added a thread to addons section a while back for console and asked for a buff timer. You might want to go there and bump this post to see if we can get their attention.

I suggested that they add a overlay on the icons (on your bar) that ticks down to the bottom. This is exactly how they do it in D3 on the consoles and it works great and is very minimal/effective

    Here is the thread
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/278788/xbox-one-buff-timer-gui#latest

The hardest part for console are the debuffs IMO becasue there is no area on consoles that it can be added to that would appear natural. This will require a new box on the GUI.

Will do, But really I mean there is. They could do what you're suggesting but instead of where the icons are on your hotbar they could be on the bottom right corner like where it shows your ap,exp and gold earned, Just on the opposite side

Working without any buffs bar requires more attention to detail to which we could say inevitably means having more "skills".
I'm used to working with a bar. It's simply a matter of knowing your character well... Eventually you just know when it's a good time to burst heal with Rally when to re-apply buffs or when your proxy detonation will blow up, etc.

But, still a lazy part of me wishes for buff bars.

Though, It would close the gap between better and worst player.
Would it be a good thing? Not sure...to discuss...

IDK I'm excited for text chat. Work well in ffxi and xiv so I'm not sure why it would be bad here. I understand the spam aspect making it annoying but hopefully they allow you to filter some out. In other versions I have used you had multiple tabs available so you could put the spam on one tab and let your group/guild/tell/whisper tab on top. Worked wonderfully.

I personally would love to see UI customization on console. Not using adds or UI mods like PC just the ability to rearrange my UI as well as maybe scale the items on the screen.

This I can get behind. I griped for ages about not having damage numbers on console, and now I barely notice them because they're so small. I'd love to be able to scale them up just a bit, so they don't get lost in all of the spells being cast.

As far as the text chat coming to console is concerned, as long as we can filter the chat by area/group/guild then it'll be fine. Just stay in guild/group chat to avoid the spammers and scammers.

And I would love buff/debuff indicators on console and skyshard/lorebook markers. It was fun hunting them on my first character a while ago...not so much on the fifth lol
