That is intentional. The effect we wanted the players to have is exactly as described. A loud explosion goes off and the players lose hearing for a little. That being said, we can take a look at how hard the audio effect is happening and see if that needs to be toned down a bit. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for reporting this, we are currently investigating. Any chance you can give us any other info? Can you describe what you were doing before the problems started to happen ( for example were you using the Blade of Woe before the problems started to happen, or did they happen right away? ) Are you all using the 64 bit client?
