It's every bit as befuddling as why they don't make the patch itself available sooner. What's the *** point of the servers being available for play when literally everyone is busy downloading for the first however-many-minutes/hours it takes to get the patch? "THE GAME IS LIVE... but you can't play it. So sorry."

I believe Gina said many moons ago that they are delayed because they need to be sure the patch applied or that every change hit the megaserver, something along those lines.
At any rate it's a weak excuse. Other games have the patch notes up and ready a week before they go live and then no downtime since they allow people to pre-load the patch and it's up ready to go.
I can only hope Zenimax are working towards something better.3 -

Haha yeah, you don't want me touching the servers or any code.
Two things regarding the patch notes: First, we will have a section at the bottom calling out what's new since we published 2.5.4 on the PTS for your convenience. We also know it's frustrating to have to wait for them to be published, especially since the servers are offline for a significant amount of time today. We do this for a number of reasons though, including allowing QA to run a number of tests surrounding a patch and its fixes.

Nah, I was developer, and know the feeling of fixing things that other people were responsible for, not working properly as they should have.
As example making undocumented changes in the test database, that, as result, won't go into the productive one. Rage is the first thing you feel. Pure rage. You want to hurt something after that.
Happenend to me once. After that, I wrote a script that killed every little script and entry in the test database, that didn't came through the proper channels.
Maybe that is exact what happenend in this case. Because this would be typical behavior, if something worked in the beta enviroment, and not in the real one.Edited by mike_de on August 1, 2016 2:40PM1 -

Can you have QA test a templar or dk running malubeth & fasalas, any less of those things (sets) would make eso a greater place indeed.Member of:
