I don't know the entire lore behind unicorns but as I remember you need to earn it's trust and prove you are good? So having one the going on a murder spree in Daggerfall might be lore unfriendly, but don't quote me on that

Actually... not so much, no. The Elder Scrolls' unicorns are psychopaths.

Hircine obviously has not set up camp in Cyroriil at the time of ESO or there would be at least one unicorn in AD territory between Alessia and Faregyl.
If they add one, it should sometimes have blood on its hooves and horn when you summon it....
