Do you want to see Gear level increased to CP 180?

Not any time soon. When they do, I hope they remember to scale back the grind on older content. If CP 160 isn't the cap then CP 160 gear (and lower) should need like a whole order of magnitude less materials to make.

I would much rather unique styles be released for different looks tied to exploration, pvp and pve. That and more sets.

Unless they reduce the cost per piece of gear to crsft, no. The jump from cp140 to 160 is ridiculous. If they keep up this trend I'd hate to see the cost for cp180.

Just found this apparently datamined , regardless of what it is, its probably for PTS, but it's CP 180 so they are probably thinking about it, I really hope they change their minds

Wouldn´t really add something new to the game imo. Perhaps more grinding of mats, which isn´t the most entertaining thing to do XD

Really not sure how I feel about regrinding out all my monster sets, item drops, etc.

I really don't think I will stay if so, but not sure. I know it was sort of difficult when v16 rolled out(From v14) because that was roughly about when IC/Orsinium rolled out.(So was sorta looking for new gear anyways)

But all over again for the same/similar sets? Not sure. I did leave for close to 6 months after orcs landed because I just -got - so bored of the endless unfruitful hunt for the briarheart set (STILL don't have it btw) or maelstrom giving crap traits, or never getting the right monster helm/weight/trait (Etc, you know it already)

SO Honestly I THINK I'd prob just fade away and find myself in another game.

Why there is some1 voting yes? If any1 can argue logical reasons behind that, im ok lol. I know (me included) here are a lot of oldschool MMO players (WoW, EQ2 etc.). Yes, a new addon came always with new gear, fine, but ESO is not comparable to those MMOS and heres why:

    1. Every DLC we have to grind new gear ALREADY, its exactly what you want with an increase to 180cp (new sets which are best in slot etc.)
    2. Because of the crafting systems, wtf is the reason why u want your 5x cp 160 legendary seducer craft again in cp 180? This makes just no sense, because
    3. the reason was always to get "new" gear, with new stats, new 5p bonuses etc. And, read point 1 again, we already have this. There is no difference in getting the new cp 160 gear sets. All what we will have with a cp180 increase is, that people who using craftable great can craft that again in 180 cp. For what do you want this lol, the grind is already here

I'm saying yes, provisionally. I do sympathise with people who submitted many hours to get the CP160 gear they wanted. But there isn't any rule that says you have to have all CP180 gear, and the game does need to progress somehow. The best suggestions I've heard are those calling for some sort of upgrade path.

First off all - they should FIX this laggy, unstable and unplayable game.
Secondly - they should do what they promised - Jewelcrafting, pvp arenas, and many, many other things.

If they fulfill all their promises (it will be something around the end of 2018, maybe), we can talk about new lvl cap.

    What does it accomplish, really?
it doesn't make anything more balanced, because everyone will be wearing cp 180 gear in the end
it doesn't add anymore fun, you're still just playing the game and earning xp like normal only now you've got a little grind hurdle to get over before you can play it at a competitive level again

No. End game gear is super expensive to make right now. I'm finally at that point where I have multiple sets of end game gear for multiple characters, and if I have to recraft all of it I will quit the game once and for all.

i want new gear sure. but only once there is a better system in place to re-coup gold materials you have invested. a chance at 1/8 is a bit low. losing 87.5% of your invested time and effort because new gear level. you could quite happily make gear return gold improvement materials between 2/8 and 5/8 based on Rng .
its hard to get gold items. There's only a chance to get back 1/8th the tannins you invested in the item when you deconstruct it. and that's across all 7 gear items and 2 or 3 weapons

10x(8-1) That's a 70 tannin deficit (assuming 100% deconstruct return rate). on Ps4 EU that is 1 million gold (980k) per character. lost. or 14,000 raw materials in need of refining. (+1,750 nodes harvested)

its literately months work for the players who don't like to craft on 7 alts and spend hours doing writs every day and farming

The work required to get the gear gold is very high. That's fine. but anytime you increase level and gear caps and all the old gear becomes obsolete. it angers people who have had several months of work reduced to sh*t.

Personally I would vote No, cause increasing gear level would only increase grinding for no other purpose other than just grinding, all my characters will have to get new gear and would probably be too much time and effort for me and just quit.

I also want to know those who want to increase the gear level what is their point of view.

This is just a tag for the ZOS team in case they were thinking about it to see what the community thinks.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom

Until they institute jewlery crafting and a way to upgrade existing armor to higher levels (ie convert a 160 armor to 180) absolutely not. They are absolutely moving towards a reduced grind in this game and the idea of having more gear outdated when they are finally getting around to making more armor usable end game seems against the theme they are moving towards + what we are expecting.

They institute that aforementioned system and I would totally be game for 501 CP armor, but not a second beforehand.

    a BIG NONO

the only reason i play this game over other mmorpg is b/c i do NOT need to grind gears for level cap increase.

there's tons of different set/gears currently in game, you can try with different combination for best results, the variety is awesome. I like the way it is.

I voted No. However, if they plan to increase the cap they should also implement weapon and armor upgrade using the crafting stations. So, when the new level comes, we can use the crafting stations to level our current CP160 gear to CP180 without needing to grind (or buy) for them again.

Hell no! *** that the grind is already unreal,

how long has imperial city been out? And I still don't have perfect trait of ANY set from either dungeon

How long has malestrom been out? And I still don't have my destro staff, 500+ runs and still don't have the item I want,

The RNG in this game is atrocious making everyone regrind all that gear would make a lot of people leave the game for good.

    Terrible idea

    Yes it should......but not now.

After One Tamriel is introduced, all endgame content code is updated to scale to max level, players have had the chance to adjust to those changes, and ZOS has had a chance to tweak the balance of those changes...THEN and only then should we begin to think about level cap increases. Or else the current sad state of power creep will get even worse. Not to mention a lot of people still haven't even got, or just recently got their vMA weapons.

No , but adding great rewarded PvP objectives and PvP morphs that require specific PvP ranks would be an idea for long term motivation. Gaining AP doesn't really make any sense, same with farming stones in IC.

I highly doubt that vendors of raided cities in the next DLC will change this or being a suitable option as long term PvP motivation. I like the idea to hold flags and cities as a faction but I don't see any reason why "special" vendors should become a desired goal for players. I think it works for a couple weeks after release and ends similar to IC , in other words majority of players will skip these areas and objectives again because so much potential in PvP not being used by designers.

CP cap, sure. Gear cap, not for a good long while.

For PVP, gear cap is irrelevant. People at the cap will always be on the same playing field, so bumping it to 180 simply introduces a new grind. No thanks. I finally feel like I have most of what I want at 160. I want to enjoy it for a while.

For PVE, it actually matters a lot. We have already seen a ton of power creep. Other than VMOL, the vast majority of content is so far beneath a proper group that it has become laughable. Simply put, we dont need to be more powerful. Next patch we are getting a bunch of new content that will hopefully be very challenging. We need to see how that balances out before we even consider a gear cap increase. Truthfully, I would be fine if they said they would never raise it, but I am sure they will at some point.

You do realize that the only reason its the "default" setting , whatever that means, is because they have not raised it yet . Nothing to do with whether players like it or not lol.

Al this whining means nothing, it will be raised or the game will become stagnate. They "cant" keep it at 160 , players will get bored and leave since there is no carrot on a stick to chase anymore.

Very few of the "NO' crowd will actually leave if they raise it past 160, its just a lot of QQing about nothing, when they know perfectly well it coming and they will be right in there with the pack after said carrot.

The matts icons were datamined a while ago. So it's comming... Sadly!

So many matts, gold tempers, so many "RNG" sets and weapons on so many characters (6 in my case)... An increase on gear level feels like a 2nd job. I don't want it any time soon, nor in this year. But sadly they'll do it for Q4 DLC
