Do you want to see Gear level increased to CP 180?

If ZoS adds in a way to increase the CP level of gear through crafting I would be fine with it. Otherwise no. Gold mats are at an all time high as it is. Costs nearly 100k just to gold out one item, that's ludacris.

Yes because that's part of traditional mmos, advancing your character's gear. Those who vote no are too comfortable with their "perfect" sets and/or haven't played mmos before, or spent enough time on them to see how it goes down.

No, I'm enjoying the fact that i can play with different sets. At this point of they raise the cap and i have to farm a ton to just make 1 gold set I'll just move to a new game. Maybe in 2018 or 19

I don't see why so many people think they have to add new materials and gear levels just because they're adding new zones, they've added two new zones already, albeit small ones, without doing so, as such I fail to see their reasoning. I for one don't like grinding for new sets, I like playing fun end-game content with maxed out characters, working towards that is only worthwhile for the enjoyment I get at the end of the journey when I can just play the game and not worry about leveling up myself or my gear any more.

I don't resent this game and games like it from raising level caps, at least not enough to stop me from playing them anyway, but I'm certainly not a fan of it and would prefer such increases be made as sparingly as possible, and most preferably for me, never.

If they turn ESO into just another gear grind like most of the other MMOs these days, it'll be easier to cancel and leave. I played WoW for over 10 years, and once it became nothing but a constant gear grind, the fun left, and it started to become a second job. Not to mention the whole buff/nerf cycle seems to start anew every time higher level gear is introduced.

Just my two cents...I expect the gear cap will go up, I'm just waiting to see how much of a pain in the arse it becomes. Plenty of other games out there, that keep the fun in my game time to worry about it though.

As long as upgrading to Legendary is so important and expensive, NO.
Decreasing the gains from upgrading to Legendary or make the improvement items more common/less expensive and I (and likely others) will be less opposed to raising the gear cap.

Making moneys for improving everything to gold quality takes 2-3 days. Also even without increasing the cap they can just release new ,,must have" sets which You would need to get and improve.

Maybe it would be better if the champion point levels were no longer related to equipment and that players gain enhancement materials doing quests.which they can either alter their current gear with ,or upgrade their new gear.
In new areas, new types of enhancement materials could be found with unique properties

CP cap will be at 531 soon and we're talking about increasing gear cap up to 180 cp so where are You see grinding here? If You'll be already at cp cap You'll just need to get new gear without any grinding. Also even without increasing gear cap there are still new sets You need to farm and improve so where is the problem?

    No.
    Increase CP-cap.

    Just a big no.
    1) I DO NOTwant to farm my vMSA weapons again
    2) I DO NOT want to farm SPC, Scathing Mage or recraft all my gear again
    3) I DO NOT want to farm monster sets again
    4) If this comes after the new DLC, I DO NOT want to farm my Master's weapons again.

    5) Just no. Increase the CP-cap, that would be lovely! Increase CP. Leave 160 as "Maximum level".

Or wat if light, medium and heavy armor gained expert, master&grandmaster while expanding armor level to 100? 60 being expert,80 master,100 grandmaster
The levels would influence the effectiveness of gear & decide which rank you are allowed to wear (like for mages ,apprentice- expert or archemage-grandmaster)
Certain sets would need a certain armor level for you to be able to wear them.
And for each of the armor levels new artifacts could be introduced.
The ancienity of the gear(how long you wear it) would increase the chances of getting rare materials when deconstructing.
Certain quest givers will be marked as either expert, master and grandmaster trainers.
And also helping out players in older areas will help you gain these new armor advancement points if they are on a quest provided by an armor trainer.(in order to gain new armor ranks, you'd need to wear the armor too while on the quest provided by an armor trainer, depending on how many pieces you wear you'll advance in the new armor ranks)
Elite mobs will also give experience on expert level, bosses will grant experience on master level(when you've reached that point)
Needless to say,how gear works would require a full overhaul if they'd go this route.
But I believe it would be more in line with the single player TES games.
The only problem then would be how they deal with sets I guess..perhaps reclassify them under certain dungeon or undaunted ranks?

Personally I would vote No, cause increasing gear level would only increase grinding for no other purpose other than just grinding, all my characters will have to get new gear and would probably be too much time and effort for me and just quit.

I also want to know those who want to increase the gear level what is their point of view.

This is just a tag for the ZOS team in case they were thinking about it to see what the community thinks.

It is coming, so doesn't matter what I vote for.

But I always welcome a level cap increase. BUT only when ALL available gear gets immediately updated with the increase. Everything else is not acceptable. trials, dungeons etc, everything must be updated to V18 when this gets online and not in later updates.

I think cap increases are always exciting. Gathering the new materials, new enchants, watching my character becoming stronger. That's what basically all online games did and it's a good thing.

Though as has already been mentioned, I'd prefer it if I could upgrade my current gear. I don't care if it would cost the same in new materials.

My reasons are selfish but, I'm already on the edge of leaving this game.. that would be just enough to make me say *** it.

There's no way I would want to grind the mats and, monster sets again. I've also been hoping for a good maelstrom drop and, if I actually got one and the level was increased I'd stop playing and never look back. Literally the most unrewarding, unsatisfying thing I have ever done in a game is farm vMA.

At this point I'd rather shove my hand in a blender.

There is a difference between an increase with purpose and an increase without purpose, in other MMOs they offer almost a new game with every expansion, in this game its just an update so increasing levels feels forced.

I usually can't wait for expansions in other games like WoW or diablo and many others even though i know my progress will be lost.

In this game increasing the level can easily make me quit.

I think the main reason is because the process of aquiring gear in this game is so boring, frustration, long or expensive but the game is fun once you do

@ZOS_RichLambert , I'm sure if you included trait reforging crafting and item level increase crafting into a future DLC, then players would be much happier about the prospect of item level increases. Unless those things aren't put into the game, then future gear level increases will feel crappy.

I'd like to go back and address something based upon the OP's initial post... nowhere does he ask if you want the gear level raised to CP180 RIGHT NOW... from my viewpoint he asked it as an open-ended question. To that I say yes, eventually I'd like to see gear raised to CP180... but NO, not right now... not until sometime after One Tamriel is released.

I just wanted to make that clear because far too many seem to take the OP's question as meaning raising the gear level 'right now' whereas I took it as open-ended, "at some point in the future".
