Cancelling an animation should result in no damage being delivered.

    Simple. End of story.

And no, you're not "good" just because you can do it. You're just pushing everyone else out of PvP.

They said it was apart of the game.

And if you can't do it or don't care to learn I won't feel bad for you when you lose a fight against someone that has taken the time to learn and be effective.

*Casts Reflect* I wont feel bad for you, when you lose a fight against someone that cant animation cancel because you cant now animation cancel.

^Do you realize how ridiculous these two statements of ours are?

Huh? All I said was people that don't want to take the time to learn the mechanics of this game are going to die. Which is true, if you don't learn how to animation cancel then your probably gonna lose. If they removed animation cancelling I'm sure I'd kill the same amount of people just not as fast.. lol. I shouldn't have to worry though since that's not going to happen.

The people that cry about animation cancelling don't have the skill to pull it off or are to lazy to learn..

The only statement that is ridiculous is yours my friend. Lol.

@Miszou hit the nail on the head in as few and small words as possible for you to understand. If that wont knock common sense into you, I'm not going to stand a chance.

To be quite frank, calling your opinion correct and sensible doesn't make it that. Zenimax has stated that animation cancelling is part of the game, and it is available to everyone, regardless of peoples' opinions. Whether the system they have, which makes it possible, should be changed to prevent it is another story.

I was just annoyed at this guys mannerisms. So tired of hearing this l2p argument, its a flaming comment. Nothing constructive happens.

I noticed that when you put a light or heavy attack in between every ability many times this light or heavy attacks doesn't fire off, and this didn't happen a few times, it happened way too many times, expecially when using dual wield. Please zeminax if you see this post try to fix this, it's becoming very annoing.

    Have a good day

What? You mean people can't magically ignore an intended animation and gain an unfair advantage over someone in PVP?

Here's another one who doesn't wan't to learn a few mechanics (wich are pretty easy i must say) and says that " It must be an exploit since i can't learn how to use it!".
This is one of the few game mechanics that separates the good player's from bad, remove this and the game will become much less interensing, and yes it is a mechanic, zenimax said in one of the past strems that this is NOT considered an exploit, if you don't wanna learn a few mechanics because you don't wan't to that's your problem, but don't try to steal the fun of other people. instead of saying that it's an "unfair" advantage try to learn this yourself, it's pretty easy one you get the hang of it.

Why does everyone always come back with the assumption that someone who is against animation cancelling can't actually animation cancel? I know how to do it, I just choose not to do it as I feel it's unfair.

Why do I feel it's unfair?

    1. In PVP the first few seconds of an attack often dictate who will win the fight. If someone puts out huge damage before the other person has time to react then that is an unfair advantage.

    2. Combat should invole both sides countering the attacks thrown at them. If you are animation cancelling I am less able to see what is being casted, so I am not as able to put up a suitable defence.

Some skills have a cast time because they are higher damage than others, it allows the combat to be more balanced. If you commit to an attack you should have to put up with the 'wait time' or cancel the attack but that should then have no damage output.

And there we have all the baddies saying AC is unfair and whatever. Evem though it's the most fairest mechanic in the game as literall everyone can learn it.
    But whatever.

Yes OP, the changes to animation prioritization has made the combat feel clunky and unresponsive. Weapon attacks often simply don't happen. It's a shame that ZoS is trying to ruin everything good in their game.

I guess I'm a "baddie" that can AC with the best of them. Well except for the people using keyboards. It is NOT the "most fair" mechanic in the game.

In pvp, opponents that can't see what skills are being fired at them has zero chance to respond. ZOS has said it is an unintended mechanic that is here to stay since they would have to do a complete overhaul of the combat system in order to correct it.

I agree with everyone saying if you cancel an animation, you shouldn't do any damage with that skill.
I want to change the world. I'm just to lazy to do it.

Definietly something is screwed with animation prioritization. Weaving light or medium attack with skills on destro staff is sometimes impossible. Many of them just dont fire up or make even more wierd things like.

This Will be my last post on this, i just think that animation cancelling is a mechanic that adds flavour to this game, remove this and this game will just become pressing one button wich isn't fun, so since this is in the game take advantage of it, if you don't want to because you think it's unfair, you will lack behind the one's who uses it.

I am sort of on the fence about this.

    There are logical arguments:

zos has stated it's not intended, but they can't fix it.
    Vs
ZOS IS NOT 100% clear on the subject

    There are emotional arguments:

It makes the game more fast paced and fun
    Vs
It makes the game twitchy and less fun

    There are sociological arguments:

Mechanics like this make people get better and enjoy the game more
    Vs
Mechanics like this make people quit from frustration.

    There are development arguments:

This is an overarching system that encompasses literally everything about combat.
    Vs
Even more of a reason to even it out

    There are artistic arguments:

Don't care what it looks like, I want to kill as fast and effectively as possible

    Vs

This doesn't look like it's supposed to, the animations are clipped

So really pick one or all across the board and you can see why this isn't a small discussion.

There will be hard line folks on this issue and that brews conflict, a discussion would be wonderful however

Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

Animation canceling or weaving or block canceling or switching whatever.....doesn't feel as responsive lately. I won't argue whether it's an exploit or not, since I only use it in regular PvE game. Since fighting invisible mobs and load screens in dungeons......has anyone noticed these weird/ cool purple ish auras around adds lately?
Anyways weaving light attacks in between abilities majorly helps to raise your DPS and dispatch mobs and adds much faster. Which majorly helps when grinding out dolmens for Lich pieces or titles and achievements. So yes, I have noticed a bit of delay recently; not game breaking or anything, but it does throw me off a little.

The purple aura is possibly someone using the aether set on the add. It means your attacks do 8% extra damage.
