Auction House

Does anyone else think we really, really should get a centralized auction house? It'd be just so much easier to find things.

Yes, I know this is suggested every other hour, but the more we make these threads, the more we show how much we want it.

The more these threads are made the more people grow tiresome looking at an entire page of the same topic.

There's like 3 trading threads on the first page. God forbid you think this idea goes unseen or forgotten about.

Ofcourse. It's barely a market. It's more elitist and closed off than the real world market. An auction house scares any trading guild because they are profiting severely from a broken system

Sellers have too much power, they're just afraid to lose it. All other reasons against it are BS. ZOS might want to simply cater to those players since they're probably a fairly profitable part of the player base.

    No. .

I played the first 6 months of the game without any guild or guild trader. It is not exactly needed to play.

I never have any trouble finding what I am looking for, at it does not take as long as a lot of people like to imply that it takes. The one caveat is that I don't go out looking for super rare stuff to buy.

The UI needs serious attention on consoles, but with Awesome Guild Store on PC it is much better.

I also think it is possible, on the more populated servers, that there might not be enough kiosks. This would not be to get prices down (as is being disussed in another thread) but just to make the system more accessible by reducing the number of guilds bidding on kiosks, average.

I sort of wish ZOS would publish some "facts" about the guild trader system. Number of guilds making bids, average kiosk costs, high kiosk cost, how often a trader goes with out being hired for the week, etc.

Lies it's not capitalism at all. Capitalism doesn't have a store called "Handyman" that sells cotton candy and poison but no materials.

People say this a lot and it's nonsense. I'm in a good trade guild with a prime spot and I don't see any collusion or exploiting the system, just weekly raffles and such like any other guild.

What supporters of the global auction house overlook is that people like me will game the holy hell out of a global store front. I've done it in other MMOs and I'd do it here as well. I wouldn't need a guild or raffles or any of that nonsense, just me and a couple hours hacking some LUA and boom, your markets belong to me. The current system makes such market domination infeasible for the solo individual and difficult for large guilds. A global auction house would make it trivial for everyone.

The auction house, or a remote access to such system, is the only reason I'd need a player house.
Like GTN in SWTOR, no more needed to go to the Fleet to use GTN, instead have my own trading panel in the house.
The only problem is huge competitiveness, causing significant drop on all prices.
So no, lets stay with actual traders. Swtor's GTN has the same amount of cons and pros.

Capitalism is an open market. This is the most closed market I've ever experience in any game in my life. On console without being able to talk to people it's like being in the stone ages but without having a family that had taught me basic things so I've got a lot of stuff and nothing to do with it. Or I get money and have nothing to buy

That's a good thing anyway. I have a hundred grain solvents, and a two hundred of the clothing purple thing. If I sold that I'd have millions. It needs to be cheaper. The only difference it would make is that your gold is worth more.

Edit:just checked and I have two hundred of each and twenty legendary ones. I am unable to find a place to sell that. It's ridiculous.

Okay, broken because you can't do a global search? Because you can't get in a guild with a good spot? What's your beef here? All you've said is that rich people want it to stay the way it currently is so that they stay rich (implying corruption or something similar) and that it's broken (somehow).

What does this even mean? Capitalism is an "open" market? So you can just pop down to your local strip mall and set up a storefront whenever you like? No rent, no contracts, everyone is welcome? What are you talking about?

I want a simple trade system. I want to search for items and find them in the same place every time. An auction house. I'm saying every single reason for not wanting to have an auction house is pure bull and then fair enough it gets close to corrupt if people are making money in a broken system and they refuse to accept it's broken.

In almost every post you state how it's broken but never say anything else but shaming people for taking advantage of opportunities.

AH will never happen, it's been 2 years and the devs are absolutely quiet about the whole idea.

We will get more stalls with each new area for dlc. They may bring in more stalls to existing hubs but never an AH.

Your cure is worse than the disease.

The market is broken. I join a trading guild right now I'll make a million gold in a week with items I deconstructed. It should be much less but it should be easier to do

Thanks though because you keep the thread alive and the issue alive. Without people trying to say "no it's fine it's just you with the problem" problems don't get fixed as they dont get attention

simpliest solution would be to cap weekly donations of traders as also officers and gm. a guild then is forced to be effcient. f.e. each member can pay up to 5 or 10k donation. also would fix the "i am rich and start a guild, my guild is crap and small but i outbid vet. trading guilds on best selling spots with my millions"-problem. traders are annoyed by that guilds. buyers are even more annoyed.

I have 25k gold. The most gold I've ever had in this game in 2 years is 70k. I only sell stuff I don't want, not stuff to make a profit. I don't belong to a large or major trade guild.

I don't want an Auction House in ESO. Ever. At all.

Clearly I don't fall into the category of someone with "hundreds of thousands of gold" and neither am I worried that I will seem less rich in someone else's idea of a "working system"

The only possible fix for a guild trading system is a guild house accesable to outsiders. That way every guild can sell something to people.

The current guild traders need to be removed from the game as soon as possible though
