Major Evasion Should Be Removed From This Game

In my opinion, major evasion should be removed from this game because I personally don't think that a 100% dodge chance based on a 20% RNG proc should exist in an action based combat system.

Shuffle (and other morph/unmorphed) gives this buff. Currently, most stamina builds run this skill. It is very powerful, but so are stamina builds. If it was taken away, stamina builds will most likely still be strong. It would probably be best to keep the rest of the skill the same as snares are ridiculous.

Double Take (and other morph/unmorphed) gives this buff. This is a Nightblade class skill that I have seen magicka Nightblades use effectively. If this was taken away, magicka Nightblades would probably be a lot weaker and may need something to compensate.

What do you guys think? Do you think major evasion belongs in this game? Do you thing these abilities should be changed to give something else instead of major evasion? This is just my opinion so I would like to know what others think.

    Another person suggesting to remove defensive mechanics becuase they can't kill someone fast enough :/
    I'd prefer it the other way round, adding spark, blinding flashes and the original cinder storm back to the game. Which btw would actually buff magicka builds since the miss chance from those skills only affected melee attacks.

    I'm not a fan of RNG in combat system .. but the maj. evasion buff should stay in it and like it is , for me .

    I think that major evasion is weird and that having a passive dodge chance in a game with an active dodge mechanic is excessive. That being said, if you take away shuffle that's a massssssive nerf to all stam classes. With damage cranked up so high stam classes needs that damage mitigation.

    Damage shields aren't an RNG chance to negate 100% damage. Stam builds can already roll dodge whenever they feel like it without having to worry about resources. They don't need evasion on top of it.

    Major evasion should only come from NB class skill blur, special defensive abilities and situations(old school DK cinder storm) or set piece bonuses.



    Shuffle needs to be removed/revamped without major evasion.

    Magicka nightblades are fine without using their dodge chance. It's complete overkill on them. If you remove Shuffle and Blur, stamblades will suffer much more. I would expect a stamina-oriented compensatory defensive buff.

    His problem isn't that he is not capable of killing people through dodge change. It's that when he outplays them and lines up a combo, one roll if the dice can send him back to square one. His question -- and the center of this debate -- is whether or not they deserve to be saved in that circumstance.

    He argues that people should have their defensive mechanics, but that those mechanics should not be rng based and completely foil an attack if they happen to proc.

    I'm in agreement. We have active dodge. Remove passive dodge and miss, add in more snare immunity stuff, give stam another defensive mechanic to compensate which isn't rng-based. Profit.

    Then what about stamplars and stam dks? Shuffle is the only line of defence without having to dodgeroll or block - both got nerfed already. People die with shuffle on all the time i dont know how its an issue.

    Many mDKs these days are using shuffle with tavas favor. I'd be fine with nerfing shuffle to an 8% chance but increasing the ult gain from tavas to 20 ultimate gained.

    Any lower than (an actual) 20% should be a medium armor passive.

    If it's doing more than 20%, which it sure as hell isn't in my experience, it needs adjustment.

    Anything that adds a couple seconds to time to kill needs a nerf to some of you.

    Shuffle doesn't need to be removed but it needs to be looked at. The percent needs to be brought down. And for anyone that says then nerf shields. A shield can be taken down( then recasted which takes resources) shuffle lasts 20 sec or more depending on the morph. Also the fact that when you dodge something due to shuffle you dodge every atack within a certain time window of that initial atack.

    Maybe if we make radiant an alliance war skill and give it a stamina morph then everyone can just beam everything so shuffle will be obsolete

    Or add CP stars that force your enemy to "lose balance". Maybe a set that reducs the effectiveness of dodging.

    I agree, Major Evasion is a terrible plague on this game. Why would there be passive dodge chance in a game with an active dodge mechanic? It's akin to giving players a passive RNG chance to block incoming attacks. Stupid.

    They should remove or greatly reduce Major Evasion and MAYBE consider using a small miss chance as a debuff. They could add it to skills like Fear and Blazing Shield (welcome back Blinding Flashes!).

    Both those classes have major mending so healing is one of their main defenses.

    Well, something can be put in its place. For example, maybe an ability where every fifth attack is dodged so it's not RNG based but it still kinda does the same thing as major evasion now. That type of ability would actually have some counter play as well. And what @KenaPKK said.

    This is in the alliance war forums so it's not about pve. And this is based purely on what people have told me and I have no personal experience in saying this but if you are talking about pve for tanking, I have been told tanking is easy enough already. But correct me if I'm wrong.

    I don't necessarily agree with removing evasion entirely, but the percentage definitely needs looked into. It seems to work much more than 20%.

    Tbh i thought about this before and i use shuffle.. nothing pisses me off more when i knock my target to the ground and all my attacs miss while hes on the ground. I think it should be reworked to 0% dodge chance when you get CC'd

    Lol everyone's only line of defense is dodge roll or block, outside of magicka sorcs and NBs, which are the squishiest classes to begin with.

    As much as I hate and love shufflemonkeys, I do not wish to see it removed like the Old miss chance (sparks from dual wield, templars blinding flashes, old cinderstorm RIP).

    Stamina is OP atm, but without shuffle/evasion they would need to reduce or remove the dodgeroll penalty because you have no shields to save you.

    Rather reduce the healing vigor/rally provides so they don't have uberheals on high damage specs.

    The only place major evasion should exist is on Hist Bark set. With that, you actually have to "activate" the dodge chance, and continue to do something to keep it up. Passive dodge chance is really bad for any pvp setting. Another exception could be DKs getting it back with cinder storm, which would require them to be in a specific spot, though I'm not sure that would balance the mechanic or still be overpowered.

    That being said, I believe that block and stam regen while blocking should be buffed to compensate for the lack of passive dodge chance. Actually, they should be buffed anyway, but that's another thread.
