You could create and sell loot runs. Like get 3 guildies and 1 pug and charge pug for carry through content that pugs have trouble doing like vWGT + vICP. Also tell them any helm found is theirs. $.$. Or if a dungeon dosent require a tank and u can carry with just a healer and a DPS so u can get 2 PUGs. = $$ x2?

To the people saying they'd sell good helms for upwards of 100k:

You'd better hope they have that cash on their person, someone in the group has the banker assistant, or have a huge amount of trust to trade them the helm and pay you back when they get to a bank. Personally, every time I visit the bank I deposit enough gold to put me at around 5k, just to cover any spontaneous armor repairs or CP redistributions.

What's the point in selling such things for a tremendous amount of gold if you cannot sell it to anyone else and the only choice for you then is to sell it to the merchant or decon. That's why I won't be charging any fees for such items and I will be more than happy to make another player happy too. Remember that eventually you might also want something that another person got (and doesn't need). If somebody wants me to pay anything, I'll say: 'just decon it then...'.

Guild or friend is not a factor. As long as the dungeon run was not one of those 'just get through this' teeth grinds, I will look at trading loot for loot as equitable. If the other player wants a good drop I do not intend to ever use but does not have anything on par for this loot for loot exchange, I usually leave it to them to if they wish to throw some other things into the trade window. Pretty sure I usually lock my trade window when I do this, and most times something makes it into their trade window anyway.

A player you do not know is just a potential future friend or guildmate.

Getting the monster helm, of right trait, and right armor weight. To be able to sell it for a high price to someone who actually has that kind of money (on them if you don't have a banker) and doesn't already have the item from the dungeon you just ran?...seems unlikely.

You could sell farming/carrying runs for gold, (which you can do now). More recent dungeons where there are armor sets and getting carried + all the drops sent to the carried player might make it attractive proposition.

But the price for running the content is split 3 ways, and with no promise of what the loot will be.... how much are people really going to pay especially if it takes 2 or 3 farming runs/carries to get the gear they want

I usually run with friends. I give them stuff for free all the time because I like them being happy. They always wonder why I do it and why do I not want it for myself, but I like taking care of my ESO family. I appreciate their friendships

In EverQuest, because there was not instanced loot, there were two types of groups that you could join/make for grinding exp and loot.

One was that people took turns looting the named mobs, which were the ones which dropped salable gear. So even if you were at that camp to get one specific item that dropped, everyone else in the group could end up getting one except you. Life was tough that way.

The second type of group was a NBG group, or Need Before Greed. These were usually guild groups, or groups with friends, but I was in plenty of NGB PUGS too. In this case, you would link your current item in that slot and if yours was worse than what dropped, you'd get to loot the item. We all took turns, so everyone got a chance to boost up their gear.

It will all depend upon how you roll. Are you greedy or caring? I know that sounds simplistic, but in the end it really comes down to that. What goes around comes around, and eventually you'll be on the receiving end of that stick.

This is going to be a buyer's market. The seller doesn't have much power for negotiations when there is only a potential of three buyers for a grand total of two hours. If the seller doesn't need it, it is in their best interest to sell for whatever they can get.

Then again, I am sure there are some buyers out there who won't recognize they have this power...

Well, I wouldnt farm an item with people that would like to charge that huge amount of gold for it (damn you capitalists skeevers).

I probably will set the issue before farming and delving. For example: you help me farm one and then I help you to farm the other, etc.
