Its weak AoE dmg and the major brutality from it needs to hit someone in melee first, 90% of the time fights start before you are in melee range and you need major brutality before you go in swords blazing.

I don't remember the exact numbers, but if I remember correctly, steel Tornado hits harder from like 70% enemy health, so damagewise it is a strictly better ability.

You do get the siphoning passives for having it, but stamblade doesn't get enough magicka for the 2% to really be worth anything, and as a PVE DPS you don't really need healing amps. In PVP you'd be looking at the skill because you want AOE damage, and in that case the higher damage and range of Steel Tornado just flat out wins.

The skill is mostly just a bit of a noob trap, all in all. Looks good on paper, falls short in practice.

Still beats using steel tornado if you don't use up power potions, and I refuse to waste my power potions fighting trash mobs. It's true that ST hits a little harder than PE even without major brutality active, but the combination of ground based AOE DOTs + deadly cloak + Steel tornado spam all adds up to inferior DPS without major brutality active.

I use it in 4-man-stuff for trash all the time over Steel Tornado on my Stamblade. The issue is that you can't spam it to no end anymore as preMorrowind, but it's still cheaper as Steel Tornado and provides a nice buff. I usually use it in combination with Death Cloak, Caltrops, Endless Hail. This and a few Power Extractions usually lay waste to every trash group within seconds.

I use it in vet dungeons, in the case we don't have a dk tank running igneous weapons, as I am a cheapskate when it comes to pots.

I think everyone is in dungeons. I just can't justify using fancy pots in 4 man content!

I'd use it all the time if I get could major brutality without having to hit an enemy.

it's a bad skill. Even for stamblades, sap essence is a better option.

Maybe if it had a debuff associated (like minor fracture) it could be an option for groups

These comments make me sigh. It isn't by any means a bad skill. It isn't the best and could be better, but it's not bad at all. On 2h stamblade builds it actually really nice. Cast caltrops+hail+rearming trap+brawler and then light attack+power extraction spam. Combined with forceful passive it's massive AoE.

That's from PvE perspective or PvP? Because in PvE almost all skills are good (except cloak), even Silver leash.

Yes, PvE. This thread isn't just about PvP. And, no lol. Not almost all skills are good in PvE. Pick the wrong ones and your dps will go down drastically. Silver leash? Really? I'm not talking overland cheese here.

Whenever you want try this with an asylum bow:

snipe -light attack - leash - light attack - arrow spray- light attack - leash pull - light attack - scatter shot. You will be surprised.

I've been trying that rotation for PvP (with some changes) adding a dodge roll before the pull to get some evasion, but my Ping doesn't help me much

@Koensol is talking pve dps, where snipe and scattershot have no place on your bar, much less silverleash.

Again, I reiterate, PE is is great for saving money and not worrying about pots for Major savagery. Does more then okay dps too, costs less, gives ulti and is all round good skill.
