The magicka morph is the best aoe for magicka NBs, since it gives you the major spelldmg buff and it heals you and your allies.
The stamina morph however is only usefull if you dont have dual wield on one of your bars. Steel tornado outperforms it in terms of AOE dps. So its only usefull for stamina tanks or stamina setups with 2H/bow.

Ot gives Nightblades great flexibility; having a class spammable, an AoE, and an execute. So if you are missing the strongest of those three, it is a good substitute.

I like it. Steel Tornado is a little stronger and a lot stronger in execute. But it isnt horrible. It is a decent in class aoe.

Power extraction actually has higher tooltip dmg than nado, it just does less damage overall because of the scaling damage on nado.

I do. 20 seconds of brutality is nice. Plus I thought my tool tip said disease damage.

It's actually much better than nado until 50% of health, does more dmg, costs 10% less stamina and gives you dmg buff. It's funny how majority of players here are missinformed. Also I have never seen anyone using it.

It is disease damage which is buffed by mighty. This with nado is awesome aoe damage.

Not completely correct, above 50% I find Power extraction works better. Once the mobs are at 50% then Tornado

Its a good ability it just the magic version is better then the stamina version.IMO it need something else to make it on par.For example they can add a snare to it or add a additional HOT to it.Which would make the ability way better then it is now.

I really would love to use steel tornado instead of this but I can't as power extraction is my main source of major brutality on my dw/bow set up. Should I replace a dot with hidden blade and use steel tornado?

I use it with bow, mainly for the Major Brutality buff, it's 20 seconds and then switch to DW bar for either single or AOE.

So typically it's Rentless Focus, Trap Beast, Poison Injection, Power Extraction, Endless Hail <switch to bar to anim cancel) then DW bar depends on Single or Multiple. Single, blood craze, rapid strikes (spam) and Killer's blade to finish them off. AOE is Tornado.

    PvP perspective:
Steel Tornado outperforms this skill big time because of its slightly higher range and the executing damage. Yes, the damage may be on tooltip higher, but (usually) when you have to use AoE skills you don't check your enemies health much anyway. You won't alternate between Power Extraction and Steel Tornado just because PE does more tooltip damage. You'll just stick with ST.
Same as how Bombard is simply a better AoE skill with a much better function. An annoying root with a snare, a decent tooltip damage (higher than steel tornado as well btw.)

If you run Dual wield/2h, you'll use Steel Tornado.
If you run 2h/Bow, you'll use Bombard.
The only place I can see it being used is when you run a Shield/2h build. But even there it's simply a damage skill with no special component to it. Makes it kinda undesirable. I think I might even run Cleave before I'd use PE. Though I don't think that will ever happen.

The same logic applies for PvE. ST with its execute damage outperforms any other stamina AoE by a lot. And considering how dual wield is the best weapon for stam DPS, I don't see a reason why not to run ST.

Something to note, this ability is UN-DODGE-ABLE, great against shuffle users. Physical damage AoE's are DODGE-ABLE (correct me if im wrong here) but power extraction is special in the sense it is not dodge-able (dawnbreaker is also not dodge-able but its because its an ultimate). Don't ask me why but its true. (ive tested against a friend).

It does decent damage however steel tornado does out perform it.

The only reason why i would ever use Power Extraction would be if i made some kind of hybrid tank/dps aoe build for pvp with 1 hand and shield. Just Block casting this ability ontop of a bunch of enemies. If Siphoning Attacks still worked with caltrops, stamina tanking on a nightblade with power extraction would be pretty strong but Siphoning doesn't work with caltrops anymore.

Also note that you get these passives with this ability:
-8% increased max magicka for having a siphoning ability slotted
-3% increased healing done for each siphoning ability slotted
-gain 2 ultimate whenever you use a siphoning ability while generating ultimate (4 second CD)

You will lose crit bonus and major brutality buff and will have two slot two abilities instead (tornado for AOE and Blade for major brutality buff)

I use it in mobs, works great. When large groups get to 20% health you can throw a couple killers blades and replace health. It is very useful and I fount it cheaper than ST.

It's also a useful way for Stamblade to get Major Brutality, which is a problem with Steel Tornado even if you DW. It's also a different Siphon skill for a Stamblade to slot on the second bar if you aren't using the siphon ult.

It's very useful for melting Mobs in PvE for stamblade and the morph is VERY useful for Magblade because it damages, heals and gives Major sorcery.

In PvP it's less useful because it you have more than 5+ players within 5m you're basically buggered.
