On PTS they are all Crown Store, including the original ones from character creation.

This is exactly the kind of thing that SHOULD be available for crowns.
The only option so far is using crowns.
But yeah, they could at least make basic hairstyles cost ingame gold. Well, too late, I guess.

Of course it's going to be only for crowns, just like the costumes, mounts, and all the other purely optional cosmetic offerings that do absolutely nothing to change the power/effectiveness of your character. This is exactly the kind of thing that SHOULD be available for crowns. ZOS has to monetize the game somehow, and cosmetics are the perfect and fairest way to do it. If they don't charge for cosmetics, what should they charge for? Go back to a mandatory subscription? Start selling gear/upgrade mats for crowns? There is no other good option.

You're not paying for the "assets" twice, you're paying for the ability to change them without going through the character creation process again. Smells like entitlement to me.

The entitlement argument has been used countless times and is broke. Everyone on here is a paying customer of ZOS. If you're happy that staple features of pretty much any (MMO)RPG are coated in micro-transactions simply because they failed to implement them for launch, while it's not even a F2P title, you're getting your wish. As I've said, I can't for the life of me understand why customers would be against the reduction of microtransactions and paywalls.
Should we also have paid for the ability to steal things? It didn't come with the base game? Paid for the Collections System? For chat bubbles, subtitles, controller support? Didn't come with the base game. ZOS has to make their money back making those systems! Nonsense.
ZOS will make money where they can make money. Thing is, ZOS makes plenty of money from selling boxes and DLC. They're continually putting cosmetic options behind paywalls. In before Housing will be restricted heavily by Crown Store purchases. It's fine that they monetize some cosmetic features, but between putting two highly anticipated systems (barber shop and costume dyeing) entirely behind a new paywall, I can understand the discontent, if not in the least for the precedent it creates.

I can't believe people are defending this anti-consumer gouging.
