I think the bag in a much smaller size like 20-60 slots should be via in-game gold.

No, but maybe they could add a few more bank/bag spaces to buy for you freebies.

Crafting bags argument again? Yeah. Thing is: I can see why it keeps coming up.

The crafting bag IS a game breaker. I mean, it's huge. I went from a maxed-out inventory with all my banking slots purchased to less than 40 in use. Had I started playing today instead of two years ago, I might just sub for the crafting bag and never max my inventory.

So it is a big deal. But I feel Zeni has made it useable for people who may not want a continuous sub.

Say you just want to play this summer. Three months sub is about $45. Sub up. When school starts in the fall and you can't play as much, unsub. Your stuff is still there. You can take stuff out as needed. When you can play steady again, sub up. Someone on a serious academic schedule might sub up for 5 months out of 12 and save themselves $100 bucks.

Really, I've read and heard a number of arguments on this. On the forums, on Reddit, in zone chat, in guild chat. I remain unconvinced that this either (1) should be a crown store purchase or (2) is a huge inconvenience for people who don't want to sub.

I understand it's not about the money. Some people don't want to sub. Fine. But then why does Zenimax owe you an item of value for the price YOU want. I mean, really?

I get it. This is crazy valuable. And they locked it behind a sub. Because Zeni is a business, not a charity or a benevolent organization. And if they ever did sell it in the crown store, I'd just buy it and cancel my sub because I own all the DLC. And if Zenimax knows that and I think they do, then guess what?

You're not going to see it in the crown store - not until the game is dead.
ZoS doesn't owe anyone money, but as a business you want to make all your customers as comfortable as possible.

The reason to sub is never about a crafting bag unless you don't do combat at all. People sub to games and stay subbed if the game is super fluid and has huge amounts of content, particularly combat content.Because if you love a game and have the money, you want to give all you can to see more of that. There are countless other perks they could give as minor conveniences and still make the sub worthwhile. Some good stuff has been listed all over the forums.

What will kill this game is making people play a game with lack of content, bad performance issues, and making the majority of people feel like their money is not important and like second rate citizens. The majority of players are not subscribers or ZoS would state they have X million of subscribers instead of 7 million have played the game. Even if every subscriber stopped subscribing due to crafting bags and the infinite dye system going up on the crown store for a big buck. This game wouldn't die. This game has at most 2 million subscribers and I don't even think it's remotely close to that.

The sub may give more steady income but there is no guarantee of how much steady income or for how long. The only definite is that alot of people buy DLC and convenience/cosmetic stuff. That is where the bulk of income comes in a buy to play game. Don't believe me? Let ZoS try to go full subscription again and it will be the same result as last time. Lack of content, lack of polish, and an overall majority of unsatisfied playerbase will dictate that result.

I hope ZoS doesn't think the way they are going is the right way. Because this game has a bunch of solid concepts underneath all the bad you read on these forums and others.

The game is doing fine and the direction it takes is a good one - this might not be the direction you pvp guys want it to go, but the only thing really unique with this MMO in comparison to others is it's focus on soloable content - and this is due to that the TES series comes from single-player content and has to cater to those to feel like Elder Scrolls - PvP does for certain not feel like Elder scrolls, it is alien to the average TES fan IMO - the game goes now into the direction of it's main audience. And since it does, it earns money and Matt Firor can have a happy smile in his face and be proud of the achievements, because his ejection seat will not be activated anytime soon - simple as that.

Do you think they should put the crafting bag in the crown store for 4000 crowns ? I do, as I can't afford a sub. every month...

Get ESO+ for 1 month, everything up to that point will go to your crafting bag and remain there. Repeat this when your bags fill up again.

You could also skip drinking a beer, going to the movies, stay home for 1 day a month,.. and be able to pay for an ESO+ sub.

Personally, I'm still a little peeved that they made all the original items available via the Crown Store that were introduced with the Imperial Edition at release. IMO there should have been something exclusive that wasn't available to everyone else who came along years later, but oh well.

While I agree with you, it would have hurt peoples feelings and we can't have that. I suppose it could be worse - I once bought a game that awarded an achievement for playing on US election day 2012. Months later, the devs removed that achievement because people who waited until the game was selling for almost nothing cried because they couldn't earn it.

Sometimes, I'm amazed humans have lasted so long. :(
