That's 3 weeks in a row now that maintenance is outside of the stated regular day and time for the EU server without any explanation why.

If patching both servers at the same time is now something they need to do that's fine but it would be kind of nice if they updated the 'Regular Maintenance Days & Times for PC/Mac' post accordingly.

Yes. But the **EU** server used to have maintenance at 3am BST. By that logic, why isn't the maintenance during EU night time/NA daytime? Thing is, they move the maintenance schedule around with no communication as to why. In fact, ZOS communication could hardly be worse in every aspect.

Experience has shown that for some aspects of maintenance both servers have to be brought down at the same time.

It's better that they do this (even if it affects EU during the day), rather than repeat the debacle of a couple of months ago when taking down the US server brought down the EU server and the ensuing tangle meant that "maintenance" took two days.

Makes zero sense to me if they are separate servers. I am not really certain they are.

With my work schedule, maintenance is during MY play prime time on NA. I don't see a problem. @Mirelurk My 'world view' shows me it obviously doesn't matter when it is, it's someones prime time. Why the crying like a bunch of five year old kids?

It's still pretty frustrating to have "maintenance" once or twice a week, never with patch notes before the end of down time, never with an ETA and never announced aside from that yellow bar (they don't even post in the Maintenance section anymore..).

At least tell us what is being added/fixed, have some meaningful changes (it really feels like it's just going down for the sake of it, so they can twiddle with data or something) and post a thread about it the night before. That and actually do it at the usual time, 11am BST is far more likely to be EU player's playing time than 3am BST.

Your particular work is an ecception. Who cares about it? They have to make, as they usual did, separate maintenances for different servers. We cry like 5 year-old- babies but you think like a rabbit would.

It is not. Maybe for NA it is, but for EU the 'standard' time is different (3 am bst Tuesday morning, which is still something like 14 hours away)

They must have brought it down to break the group finder again.

I got a group for the first time in a week - Blessed Crucible - and within seconds of zoning in, got the 15 minute warning; we killed the lava queen seconds before the server came down - had time to loot but not say anything.

Different servers but the same staff working on them. I work in the UK but I'm releasing a patch to a NZ server today during my UK working hours. It's simply the practical way to do it.

The "reason" I'd heard (and I have no idea if it's true) was that the game play servers are separate but the login server is shared (which is why I said "for some aspects of maintenance").

As for the servers not being separate, I'm not sure how that stands up considering in the past we have had separate maintenance schedules.

Well its down in Australia prime time, time is now 8pm Monday night but since I work its doesn't bother me as I will be going to bed ( early start) better they do maintenance too fix stuff but it doesn't matter what time they do this as people will complain anyway so go outside and enjoy the couple hours its down

And if that's the case that's understandable but why don't they tell us that.

I consider it a very basic requirement of good customer service that customers are informed of the reasons behind any changes to published regular maintenance days and times.

I'm really glad they decided with 6am EDT instead of 10am EDT, by the time most people arrive home from work or school servers will be back up.
