Ruby Red Weapons... what!?

The point is this: We can already dye armor. Not just cloth/leather armor, but also heavy armor - metal. If the argument against weapon dyes is a break of immersion, where were the complaints when you could dye heavy armor? There's no reason we shouldn't be able to dye our weapons. Red looks cool on some weapons, but for some people, they don't like it, or are just sick of it. I remember when voidsteel was the highest level ingot. I hated seeing those colors everywhere. There was no diversity. Everyone was just a humanoid blob of indigo.

I just don't see what the big issue is with the color of Rubedite weapons.
Because it makes certain weapons look like crap.

This should be a whitish bone color with brown leather strap around it like the Ice Hearts sword quest reward.

Oh a chocolate sword, exactly what you wanted? Right? *awkward shifty eyes*

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom people feel strongly about this, weapon dyes need looking into. Please.

    How to solve this issue:

    Color weapon?
    • Insert 10 of any type of Metal Ingot/Wood to have your weapon take on the coloring of that item's level (color). Add 1 of any temper to get the "upgraded" look of the weapon, since improvement alters weapon textures.

    Transmog?
    • Insert 2 of any Style Material to have your weapon/armor take on the appearance of that weapon/armor.

    Done.

That would be a good solution, as it ties into the crafting system. It would take more effort to program than weapon dyes, though.

To be fair: As I said earlier, I have no issue with weapon dyes being implemented into the game.

I don't care either way, and I think my weapons look sick when made with Rubedite/Ruby Ash.

I just see some people getting absolutely vitriolic over it, and I just don't see it as such a big deal.

But the anger though... I guess my opinion is quite colored (pun intended) by the fact that I see no issue with the color of end-game weapons, because the amount of vileness brought out over this has given me a couple deep-belly laughs.

I also don't see this getting put anywhere near the top of Zeni's "to-do" list, especially with the other issues that they're working on ATM.

The god tier of weapons...rainbowdite where it makes everything look magically delicious :p

      @Uriel_Nocturne
I'm not angry, it's just an eyesore that makes me not want to use the best material I can which is the problem that others have with it.

I don't know what you are talking about... surely you mean technicolour-fantabulosa the vivid full spectrum ore of Vvardenfell, the metal that is so iridescent and intolerant of colour combinations it opposes and clashes, deliberately, any armour dye set you come up with? :smirk:
