Same diff.The same races,same Orcs,etc.
Same universe, different time period. No draenei, worgen, pandas, or any other dlc race implemented in WoW.
Draenei are in the movie.
Now I really cant wait till this weekend.
I never read the synopsis for the film, as I intended to see it. Everything I read stated it was based on Warcraft, WoW's predecessor. I just read the synopsis, and it reads as if it were pulled straight from WoW's Burning Legion expansion. I stand corrected. Seems it should have been titled World of Warcraft instead.
I think they meant to keep the title shorter.I know that the main actor, the human,is Travis Fimmel, who plays Ragnar in the TV series Vikings,so I look forward to this. Also,I love those huge Orcs.I just wish ours in ESO were as big as they are supposed to be,but they're no bigger than humans.
Cuz they're elves
No.We have ORCS,.."along" with our Elves. They arent supposed to be Elves.XD
ES Orcs are elves. Orsimer.
Ok,so what. They are supposed to be larger than the other races still. In any game I have played that has Orcs,ESOs are the smallest.
I agree they should be bigger as in more muscular, seeing as they are more primal in nature, but not bestial like other games, because it's not really what they are
That depends on who created Orcs in games first. It wasnt ESO.In earlier games they were bigger. What they are is what they were made to be.A Big and powerful race.Almost bestial, though intelligent.Very intelligent, but close to bestial.
Some reason ES decided to do something different and make them elves, and then have them punished, altering their appearance to what the Orsimer are now. Descendants of elves. Not sure why they went this route but it's cannon now. Too much of a change would have fans up in arms over it.

Edit: Warlords of Draenor expansion. Forgive me I am at work.
It's all Warcraft. Should Hearthstone be "Heroes of Warcraft" or "Heroes of World of Warcraft"?
I am impressed they were able to get an average rating of 27 on Metacritic. That puts the movie in elite company.
I agree with GivvumBoane.I still say it is both Warcraft and WoW's Burning Legion.
Differing opinions.
I corrected myself in the post. It was Warlords of Draenor
Right.Sorry.
NP, just didn't want you to get flamed over Burning Legion error cuz my mind was elsewhere when I made the original post.

Id love to see the Battle of Red Mountain. But I dont know how well that would go over with national audiences since it wouldnt involve humans but instead the Dwemer and Dunmer.
I want HBO to finish Carnivale before picking up a new series
So I went to an early screening of Warcraft. The movie based off of world of Warcraft (duh) . I thought it was pretty good, it gave me a lord of the rings vibe. I went in expecting ok, and got

Isn't it based on Warcraft 1: Orcs and Humans? Or is it just set as a new story in the same universe?
On topic of an Elder Scrolls movie, I don't think you could make an a movie based on any of the games. For one, you don't want to give a definitive narrative of events for any of them. Second, their stories are pretty open. You would start the film with a main plot and half way through the protagonist would wonder off to do some side stories.
Doing a major event in the lore sounds good, but you have to remember the movie needs to be accessible to people who have never even heard of Elder Scrolls. Probably the best idea would be a smaller story set in the universe featuring a group of 4-5 (each a different race) off on a forgotten tale of adventure.
