We already have an Elder Scrolls Movie - in fact Khajiit made at least three of them. Khajiit does not count the fourth one with the orc in. Box office figures for that were lower than the belly of a Guar.

Do you realize what you've done ? Mr Snuggles was enchanted with powerful magic to keep dreaming Daedra from attacking King Casmir in his sleep . Now he's one slice of cheese before bedtime closer to madness ...

Just to be clear it's based on Warcraft, not World of Warcraft.

    Same diff.The same races,same Orcs,etc.

Same universe, different time period. No draenei, worgen, pandas, or any other dlc race implemented in WoW.

    Draenei are in the movie.

Now I really cant wait till this weekend.

I never read the synopsis for the film, as I intended to see it. Everything I read stated it was based on Warcraft, WoW's predecessor. I just read the synopsis, and it reads as if it were pulled straight from WoW's Burning Legion expansion. I stand corrected. Seems it should have been titled World of Warcraft instead.

I think they meant to keep the title shorter.I know that the main actor, the human,is Travis Fimmel, who plays Ragnar in the TV series Vikings,so I look forward to this. Also,I love those huge Orcs.I just wish ours in ESO were as big as they are supposed to be,but they're no bigger than humans.

    Cuz they're elves

No.We have ORCS,.."along" with our Elves. They arent supposed to be Elves.XD

    ES Orcs are elves. Orsimer.

Ok,so what. They are supposed to be larger than the other races still. In any game I have played that has Orcs,ESOs are the smallest.

I agree they should be bigger as in more muscular, seeing as they are more primal in nature, but not bestial like other games, because it's not really what they are

That depends on who created Orcs in games first. It wasnt ESO.In earlier games they were bigger. What they are is what they were made to be.A Big and powerful race.Almost bestial, though intelligent.Very intelligent, but close to bestial.

Some reason ES decided to do something different and make them elves, and then have them punished, altering their appearance to what the Orsimer are now. Descendants of elves. Not sure why they went this route but it's cannon now. Too much of a change would have fans up in arms over it.

Writings involving Topal the Pilot, one of the most famous Aldmer Adventurers, indicates that Orcs were in Tamriel long before the whole ordeal with Trinimac becoming Malacath.

The thing about the lore is, if we didnt see it we should probably take it with a grain of salt. As everyone telling their version of history has an agenda. This includes the Aedra and Daedra.

Edit: Warlords of Draenor expansion. Forgive me I am at work.

It's all Warcraft. Should Hearthstone be "Heroes of Warcraft" or "Heroes of World of Warcraft"?

I am impressed they were able to get an average rating of 27 on Metacritic. That puts the movie in elite company.

I agree with GivvumBoane.I still say it is both Warcraft and WoW's Burning Legion.
    Differing opinions.

I corrected myself in the post. It was Warlords of Draenor

    Right.Sorry.

NP, just didn't want you to get flamed over Burning Legion error cuz my mind was elsewhere when I made the original post.

    Naaah.Not a problem at all. :)

Betheseda has either never thought of it or they really dont know where they would set the story. Theres a lot of opportunities and plenty of room for them to just make something up. But theyd probably want to tell a story that the fandom has some idea of.

Id love to see the Battle of Red Mountain. But I dont know how well that would go over with national audiences since it wouldnt involve humans but instead the Dwemer and Dunmer.

Bethesda has thought of it many times. It's just that they don't want to screw it up. There have been many contenders and all have failed. Todd Howard said, tho, that people [from the movie industry] were more interested in Fallout setting, rather than The Elder Scrolls.

I w ouldnt want the ESO series to be on HBO.I would like it if there were a series of movies in theaters, like the LOTR series. It's still going on.One after another.I love that.
ESO has so very much content that would lend itself to several movies.Heck,I could even see Peter Jackson doing them.

Isn't it based on Warcraft 1: Orcs and Humans? Or is it just set as a new story in the same universe?

On topic of an Elder Scrolls movie, I don't think you could make an a movie based on any of the games. For one, you don't want to give a definitive narrative of events for any of them. Second, their stories are pretty open. You would start the film with a main plot and half way through the protagonist would wonder off to do some side stories.

Doing a major event in the lore sounds good, but you have to remember the movie needs to be accessible to people who have never even heard of Elder Scrolls. Probably the best idea would be a smaller story set in the universe featuring a group of 4-5 (each a different race) off on a forgotten tale of adventure.

    Sure you can. :)
Morrowind has a definitive story,You land in Seyda Neen, and wind up having to save Vvardenfell/Tamriel from Dagoth Ur.The game gives all the needed content to flesh out a full film with a great ending. It has a start(landing in the prison ship)a middle(the main quests),and a great ending(the death of Dagoth Ur).
There would be no need to fabricate anything because it is all there like a straight line. Also, as to the side quest thing,..c'mon,the directors would know how to keep it on track.Just because it is Morrowind doesnt mean that every quest must be in the movie. The main questline is enough.
