I have a guildy @jasonthorpeb14_ESO who is red-green colorblind. He is currently struggling on the third stage of Maelstrom, where the ground is green and the AoEs red and he can't see anything. rip

This game needs a colorblind mode @ZOS_GinaBruno

In 3 decades of gaming I have yet to witness a game implementing such a feature. Oh and OP, you are tagging a staff member that has retired to take care of her baby, so the canches of your request being fulfilled are actually vewwy low.

If you aren't colorblind. Farming Bloodspawn will make you that way soon enough. That praxin fight. Worst colorscheme in the game.

But more on topic, having the ability to turn red AOE circles a different color would be an amazing feature for everyone.

Maybe it's a stupid idea since I don't exactly know how colour blindness works, but can't he just reduce the intensity of green objects in his graphic settings to a level where he can distinguish between ground aoes and environment? Not as good as a colour blinde mode but could be a work around untill they acutally implement the option to have blue or yellow aoe warnings.

I hear this problem exists all the time, so why do no games implement any kind of effects sliders so that colorblind players can control what they see? This should absolutely be an industry standard.

Being partially color-blind myself, I confess that I sometimes struggle in content where devs think they're being clever by color-coding things, while to me it just feels kind of ignorantly cruel. I appreciate it immensely when some games do include alternatives or a color-blind mode, and recently on the PTS I felt gratified when my comment on the animation and FX changes to DK's was (seemingly) taken into account and the new FX were considerably easier to see for me. I do hope that ZOS continues to evolve and add alternative settings or methods for color-blind players to participate and play with. Hopefully the Devs see this thread and can comment if any sort of game-wide feature is planned.

Though I am not colorblind myself, I play with some people who are and agree it would be helpful.
Adding in the Deuteranopia, Tritanopia and Protanopia colorblind modes would be nice.

Wonder how addons for this would work..Hmm.

Loads of games have colour-blind mode.

Those red circles in some dungeons are impossible. Like when you fight mephala. Unless I face the beam, I have no idea the aoe I'm in it. Fire part on engine guardian on one part of the room is the same.

I have this problem, also. I cannot see AoE/red attack areas that overlay green or blue AoE —or anything that falls under a Nova. The Warrior in Hel Ra is a good example of this nightmare.

I've learned to watch for a specific movement a boss will do to catch when I should gtfo. I tried volume adjustments, but they don't work for me. I can set them to a customized setting so I only hear dialogue, but it lasts maybe 20 seconds. Everything automatically reverts back to default after that. So catching dialogue that usually occurs before an attack is useless for me.

Learning how their body positions before these attacks has been the best way for me to deal with the difficulty or impossibility seeing red attack indicators over boss or player attack animations.

TBH I cant see it being a major issue to have a colour picker in the settings menu.
Many colours are presets properties, but can be made accessable quite easily as a natural part of any game engine.
    (Consider the armour dye system)
I think there is high possibility for such a feature if you ask ZOS nicely.
It will of course be time consuming...so... priorities I guess.

Only colour blind people can spell out and identify the issues.
So you need to be thorough, concise and cover all the issues encountered as well as suggested fixes.

A handful of people in a population of 1000s wont get a high priority.
Perhaps get a head count on people with visual impairment that could benefit fro this ?
It might be that ZOS considers the time spent vs players rewarded isnt viable.

Yeah it seems pretty straightforward to have a colorblind mode in every game, I don't know how any game is ever released without one considering how prevalent colorblindness is, even a fraction of a percent of the population is enough to warrant such a simple and easily implemented feature.

8% of caucasian males have some form of colorblindness. It's not a handful of people.

The Division also has a colorblind mode. It isn't very good, but it is there.

As a colorblind player, I have to say that the Warrior in Hel Ra is one of the worst. Especially after he breaks the walls and the sunlight removes all sense of contrast on the ground.

Can you guys please let me make red circles Hot Pink or something already? The 64 bit client does that for most things already! ;)

But seriously though, does someone know of an add on that can change those colors?

Considering that this affects upwards of 10% of the male population, it's potentially hundreds of thousands of players either affected or not playing. I find it backward that a big game today doesn't support it.

Re other games: World of Tanks (/ Warships / Planes) have colourblind modes.
