I would consider running harness magicka for future attempts at Flawless. I back-bar it on every round for my magicka Templar. It can save your butt and prevent a death.

Instead of asking ZOS to change the mechanic, follow the other countless players who changed a skill around and made it through the Maelstrom level ...

I have no problem making through the arena, and I am sure I can get flawless if I got for it again, but its just frustrating how bad mechanics can ruin a perfect run. Also, how can stam builds live through this with vigor or rally? It just doesn't make sense to allow the poison plants to spawn right underneath you when you got nowhere to go.

On my second Flawless attempt I was more careful and earned my title.
I dislike this RNG but it really can be avoided 100% of the time if careful enough. That said, you should gain 100% poison immunity while inside an Argonian Minder bubble shield.

You should definitely be given immunity to poison bulbs while in the shield radius, but it IS avoidable. Just need to be very on top of things
On a couple of runs, I had to interrupt the Argonian Behemoth to get cured, then fight him enraged. Still winnable.
My biggest issue is with killing an Argonian Minder, and then getting hit by one of those ground quakes or having the boss punch me. As soon as the Argonian Minder dies the Argonian Behemoth will enrage for his scream. His attacks after killing a Minder deal the enraged damage even if used right before the actual scream
Here is a video. It's clearly a l2p issue, but healing ward helps noobs like me a lot
I find it appalling that there are people actually defending this mechanic. It's a pure luck/RNG mechanic that does not belong in the arena, and it's a problem that should be easily fixable by simply making it so that the shield grants the player immunity to any flowers that may explode within the shield (i.e., suppress the application of the Volatile Poison status effect if the player is under the shield).
That having been said, there have been countless threads about this problem ever since the early days of vMA, asking @ZOS_Finn to do something to fix it. At this point, over half a year later, your only realistic option is to either find a way to adapt to it, or just curse your luck and try again. But it doesn't hurt to keep asking and hoping for this fix.
Can you not bash the boss in the vet version?
Erm, how flawless was it dying because you run a stam templar?blacksanctuary wrote: »I have no problem making through the arena, and I am sure I can get flawless if I got for it again, but its just frustrating how bad mechanics can ruin a perfect run.
