Majorly peeved at how stressful it is to craft endgame gear

You spend all that time, all that effort, all that gold, and finally you've got all of the stuff you need to craft the perfect set of gear.

You travel to the first of the two crafting locations, you carefully review all of your notes on what trait goes on what piece of gear, making sure that everything is EXACTLY how you want it before you hit craft.

Everything goes off without a hitch, so you move onto the next location in order to craft the next few items.

When you finally arrive, you craft everything else in the same exact way, stressing over every tiny detail of the armor and weapons, making sure everything is perfect before crafting them...

...Except it's not perfect, and you've just crafted a VR16 sash (that cost 130 Ancestor Silk btw) with the STURDY TRAIT on it. Look at what you've done now, you daft fool!

Hoping to undo this grievous error, you deconstruct the item. Unfortunately, of the 130 silk it cost to make the item, you only get back 30 or so pieces, so now you've got to spend the next two hours lusting after red plants in the Wrothgar wilderness.

Jesus, it's frickin' cold up here...

Been there, put infused on an item when I meant to do divines, had to go farm another stack of Silk. Thankfully I hadn't golded anything out yet.

I once wasted 8 tempers upgrade a wrong piece of gear to gold because the addon locked the piece I wanted to upgrade so it moved to the next item instead. It was 8x8000 = 64000 gold.

I was an absolute fool last night. Got my first char to v16, and went to craft my armour set (julianos/torug)
All went fine until my last piece, during upgrading from purple > gold, I miscalculated and was one single temper short. I only had 7/8 left after upgrading all other 6 pieces. Instead of running to a city to check guild vendors (or even just ask my guild to COD me one.. which would've taken seconds) I stupidly decided to 'risk' it on an 87.5% chance.. yep, 150 or so silks gone, tempers from white > purple all gone, I think I already even had it enchanted.
What a waste.. all my fault I know, but still. There shouldn't even be an option to upgrade below 100% lol.. may as well be 1% chance to upgrade

    Ouch... I feel your pain.

I once lost a piece of gear that way because I hadn't clicked the button enough times to take it up to 100% chance, even though I had the mats. :#

Yeah, you just need to remove them from crafting bag from time to time, after massive refine for example.

The only time left out of that is "at work", when you probably shouldn't be crafting (or even on ESO) either. ;)

And I'm not even suggesting that most people are either high or drunk, just that a lot of people waver between "at work" and "dead tired", sometimes with an overlap between those two physical states.

    "Measure twice, cut once."

When crafting max-level gear, twice isn't enough. I triple- or quadruple-check before I press that button. :p

It also helps that, if you're crafting PvE DPS gear, there's really only one choice: Divines. Makes life so much easier.

How about an "Undo" button, kind of like a paint program, where you can always reverse at least the latest crafting attempt?

The trick though is to make sure that is not exploited, so we can't just use one gold temper instead of 8, hoping for that 12.5% to kick in...

So maybe an additional warning when you are trying to use less than 100% for tempers, like,

"Are you daft you fool? You really want to lose everything to save ONE temper? Don't blame the game if it fails miserably.

Ya moron!!! (no offense meant, of course)"

Yeah made similar mistakes. The mistake I most commonly make is make a non set item at the proper set items crafting station. Imo this should not even be an option. I never collect mats though. Plenty of gold to buy more and prices of mats have gone down a lot.

I recently deconed all my v16 yellow nirn trait swords and staves since nin trait will be trash next patch and sold all the nin since it goes for a good price atm but I am guessing the price for fortified nirncrux is going to drop a lot. They also made it more abundant.

Yeah, the bit I bolded, I've done that too. Usually at the blacksmithing station when switching between weapon and armor crafting, I'll craft the set weapons, but it is all too easy if you are not paying attention to switch to the ordinary armor tab rather than the set one.
