Wouldn't it be so awesome if you had the option to do bring a friend on the veteran one? You could do it in "single-mode" for leaderboards and together with a friend just for the rewards, titles and drops.

It's easy, I can 1 shot everything with light attacks. But even still I guess it helped me out with the vet mode to some degree.

Went in once early on and had real trouble with lag. Never bothered since. Would prefer a co-op option.

Tried a couple of times. Each time I found it very easy, right up until the ice arena, which was like hitting a brick wall. I think its probably just because I'm lazy and can't be bothered to swap things around a bit. I've put it on hold for now, there are other in game priorities.

Got to the final round but the quest somehow got reset by one of the patches and customer support couldn't restore it... Haven't bothered since.

Completed it when I was at 250-350 CP at launch with two of my stam build. Then had to wait until I was around 500 CP in order to start the vet one properly . Vet was also Killing me by boss 4 usually back in those day. It wasn't a great time/effort Investment at that point so I waited then come back with a more balance class for this type of content, nowaday I do veteran mode every week hoping I can get a Destro or a Bow to drop somewhere... never seemed to happend thought.

That's the hardest imo cause it is less about mechanics and more about 7-8 mobs attacking at once for 8k+ each. Once you get through that, the rest is easy when you learn the mechanics. Watch out for stage 7 though, very buggy!

Sheesh.. I watched some of those clips. Doesn't look like any techniques to me. Just seems like bunch of high-powered characters with powerful weapons and defensive abilities making it look easy. All they are doing is grinding left and right knocking out all those beasties and clearing the stage, within a few minutes. I'm sure they are all at 501 CP. I'm sure you can beat it, even if you're not close to 501, but I'm sure it is much harder and frustrating.

I wish I never did normal maelstrom.

It gave me this false sense of security. Even completed it entering as a level 9 Khajiit dual wield stamplar (it leveled him to level 12 on completion).

I thought I was godly then I went into vet maelstrom for the first time and the blades on stage two absolutely obliterate me on everything other than my magblade, mag sorc and mag Templar.

Normal maelstrom = below easy mode
Vet maelstrom = super, ultra, death march, nightmare mode

I have beaten it and it was much easier on my higher DPS Sorc than my life saving Templar build. For the life of me I cannot imagine ever completing Vet. LOL. Maybe I have low frustration tolerance and have worn a hole in my desk already from repeated head banging frustration. But if not fun = not doing it. No thanks.

It does teach you some of the mechanics.
Stay under the engine guardian when it's green
Even at high level character, you have to kill the trolls before all the ice platforms are destroyed and hit the giant when you can.
You have to stay near the lights or the spiders overwhelm you.
You have to cleanse in the green circles or poison kills you.
You have to go under the blue umbrellas or the argonian behemoth will kill you with his roar.
You have to destroy the totems to damage the bosses.
You have to kill the clanfears on the portals to activate it to get to top level.

It's way easier to figure these things out, while your not getting destroyed constantly. It teaches prioritization to an extent. Many times it's better to kill the add, then the healer. Keep your shields up, work your self heals, manage your resources, learn where the sigils are, even if you don't need them etc...

Most people burn through normal, but if you dps slowly you can really learn the mechanics and save yourself 500 soul gems rather than learning the mechanics in vet.

Also should save a year or two off your life. All those wtfwtfwtf moments would instead be 'ok now this is gonna happen when he spawns here...'

Ventured into normal a few days back.

It wasn't anywhere near as bad as I was expecting - a few mechanics went over my head, and I sure died a few times....and definitely did it in two parts (1-6 on night one, then 7-9 on night two).

Gained me a number of levels and some skill ranks so I'm happy with that.

Vet (when I eventually get there) will be a whole other kettle of fish though I suspect.

I did normal before doinf vet, light atked everyrhing, bosses died in 1 spam rotation. Then went ro vet and got destroyed (beaten vet now)
