@ZOS Any plans to make the undaunted skill line more practical to level up quickly?

Some of us players like to "grind up" alts very quickly and have them ready for competitive game play.

Everything else in the game that can be leveled up has a way to power level to the best of my knowledge, yet the undaunted skill line seems to be the only one that forces you to progress bit by bit over a longer period of time.

Even if you complete the no death + speed achievements for every dungeon which do give undaunted exp it still takes quite a while.

I think that having each dungeon award undaunted experience only on the first completion is a mistake, a clear is a clear and a boss kill is a boss kill and should award a certain amount of experience for those who are prepared to dedicate the time to power level that skill line instead of relying on daily missions.

I hope it stays the same.. literally two weeks of gold and silver keys.. throw in some public dungeons and their achievements, bam, rank 9, congrats. I get why they did it with PvP lines (don't totally agree with it), leave undaunted alone. Once you get undaunted to nine and get that sweet monster set you have always wanted, there isn't much reason to run it all the time.

Just give the "everything now" crowd the instant maxed characters they crave for a hefty price in the Crown Store and let the rest of us play the game.

do the speedrun + special requirement achis, and those same dungeons repeat them 5 times, and you near lv 9

coa and wgt for speedrun+hardmode and its definetly at lv 9.

doing first the speedrun + special requirement, takes about 2-3h depending how organized group you get for it. then doing them 5x more but just normal way without stress> another 8-12h, then coa and wgt both twice or 3 times, doesnt sound too grindy

why 5x more each dungeon? to get the rest of the achis from them which is slay specific amount of certain mob and so on.

Maybe try actually reading the OP before posting comments that are unrelated in any way or form because you read the headline and think you know what the thread is about.

    Edit:

In case it's somehow not clear, I want the effort required to reach undaunted 9 to remain, but simply having the amount of time it takes spread in a way where it partially depends on daily quests doesn't makes sense if compared to every other skill line in the game where you are able to work at it non stop until you max it.

sounds like a bad group. 2hrs for vcoa? insane. Look man. Some of us have had characters for a very long time that still arent lvl 9 undaunted. Some of us grinded for alot of things that they just give away now. You already got monster helms in pvp, and extremely low xp requirement for alliance skill lines. Give it a break why dont you.

Riding skills can only be power levelled via crown store.

I read the OP very clearly, and was responding in particular to the basic premise of it:-

I'm against all dumbing down and speeding up of gameplay, which has become all too common in MMOs today. I recognise the fact that having leveled one character fully some players don't want to repeat it all with alts or at least want elements of that repetition to be speedier, as you have proposed, and my suggestion addressed that point.

The process is fine the way it is. I like how some of the skill lines require specific activity to level them up. If you want vivor or you must PvP. No way around it. Undaunted is a good design. Doesn't take long to level it up.

I noticed something the other night, with Lions Den anyway, I did not get any Undaunted Exp when completing the group event the first time through. I don't know if it was a bug with that dungeon.

    Well how about this....

Unlock all the undaunted skills at level 1 skill line after doing the first dungeon quest.
But the undaunted line progress the same.

This actually offers value for the topics of ppl selecting roles.
Undaunted has taunt, shields, dps and healing options with morphs.

All of these should come around level 15 once you complete the first undaunted quest dungeon but then play with progress after that. Skills should progress the same tho just unlock them all so ppl can actually use them in dungeons as its benefits no one not to have them at 15 which is approx the level that quest needs to be done by if not sooner.

It's idd that undaunted is a dungeon line that really can't use all the skill until you're level 45+ But we can queue to play with anyone from level 10-VR16

    "Some"? lol

Everything Zenimax has done regarding the level system has been to cater more to the fact the majority of the community and playerbase want to get to endgame with no long-term grinding required, hence the removal of vet ranks and having it so CP is shared between all characters on accounts. Make skill lines any easier than they are now and you may as well just remove progression entirely. Believe it or not there are SOME players that prefer long-term leveling so it feels more accomplishing.

I ground up two toons from sub-VR to VR16 during Cake Week.

Yes, Undaunted did take some effort, but I got them both to Undaunted 9 within about a week of Cake Week's end (I did run the Random dailies and the daily pledges as I was leveling them during Cake Week). No, I can't level it to 9 in a single day, but a couple of weeks is definitely doable and pretty fast.

    It's fine as it is.

Undaunted 1-9 takes maybe 2 weeks of work, in the meantime you'll get several Shoulders, a bunch of gold, stuff to sell, a chance at Trophy Jewelry occasional, laurels, and motifs if you don't already have them all.
