The only people who want an AH are kids on the forums who can't be bothered to use the forum search feature. Traders are a pretty cool system. AH's are terrible in every mmo that has one. Anyone still crying for us to list pros and cons can browse through the other threads for that info. Traders are the system ESO chose to roll with. It's not gonna change. Good on them I say.

I'm late to this thread but...
NO ABSOLUTELY DO NOT ADD A GLOBAL AUCTION HOUSE.
A global auction house would devastate the in-game economy, prices would fall so fast because of all the people trying to undercut either just to make a sale. You would be better off selling things to npcs at that point. There would be waaaay to much competition to make to a sale since there are hundreds of people who just play ESO as merchants.
Not to mention it would destroy all the trading guilds whose sole purpose is to get traders to make their members gold.

If they got rid of guild traders for a global trade house, I and most of the people I play with would quit. Straight up, I get on everyday just to refill my slots on the 4 trading guilds I am in.

So yeah, part of my issue is greedy I suppose, I personally don't want prices to drop dramatically due to a global trade house. Maybe if they just added a few more traders in each major city, like double the amount for 5 to 10,so there is more of a variety of items for sale might help.

However, if your single biggest issue is that because of the current system you can't find a particular item, try to grind for it. Let me know if spending 30 minutes searching the traders is less time then grinding for it. To me, spending 30 minutes searching for a particular item is preferable over having to grind for it, but maybe I'm not lazy? I also personally enjoy going from trader to trader searching for items and good deals, makes the game more enjoyable.

IMO, the guild trader system adds a whole dimension to the game that most MMO's lack, a system that is hard to rig for the best interest of the rich players who can scoop up all the good deals instantaneously and force the poorer players to pay whatever prices said rich players decide to set their price at.

You mean "fail"? Just because you're stubborn and you don't like change, doesn't mean Guild Traders are the better option. They are awful.
prices would fall so fast because of all the people trying to undercut either just to make a sale.

That's a bad thing? I work the AH on WoW, making thousands of gold a day for my guild, without even logging in (Armory app). Smart players who know how to work the AH will still make the money they need to, regardless of undercutters.
If they got rid of guild traders for a global trade house, I and most of the people I play with would quit.

Bye. If you're going to quit for a reason like that, then you should probably just leave now. Take your temper tantrum elsewhere.
I also personally enjoy going from trader to trader searching for items and good deals, makes the game more enjoyable.

Good for you. So you think because YOU like going from trader to trader, city to city looking for 1 item, that means the rest of the community has to suffer?

    Great argument. Stay classy.
