Math behind Resistance

Hey everybody,

I am finding Resistance numbers quite unintuative, when it comes to figuring out your actual mitigation. So can anyone give me the math to answer below question. I am NO CP, so you can leave those factors out of it;

If i am hit by opponent 5k tooltip attack, and i have Resistance of 10k, how much damage will i receive, compared to 20k resistance?

Notice i am talking 5k tooltip. Would like the math including the battle spirit debuff/buff etc.

33000 physical/spell resist is 50% damage reduction. You need to factor in all the penetration and stuff that exists when calculating but just pure armour numbers wise, every 650~ armour/spell res = 1% dmg reduction.

Like I said resistance and mitigation got screwed over.

Sharpend gold weapons= 14%
Weapon passive=20%
Champ tree= up to 5200 aprrox strait up go thru.
Reduce armor abilities tied into spamable attacks=5200 approx

Basically use armor as a stat mod. If your using it for anything else you will get frustrated.
