Seems good to me. I don't see anything ugly there. I am shocked at people staring at those images just to find details to feel unhappy for.

Although there are differences from the trailer, I find it a nice looking outfit on itself and I am most likely buying it, depending on how it looks in game. I prefer the gloves the way they are now than how they were before, although I don't know why they couldn't keep one hand covered and the other not covered, I don't care for the thighs exposure and I actually like the knee pads, although I'm not a fan of the shape of the feet. And, of course, I never expected the cape since we don't have capes in the game.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Its not quite that simple, i was looking forward to a well done copy of the cinematic costumes but so far i have been nothing but disappointed i will for sure not buy it because is not what i want but is a lost opportunity. See it as you where waiting long for a product that was advertised as being something you wanted lets say a new console but now its released and the designers changed the interface of the console to something you are no longer attracted to because is clunky and lacking in design, how would you feel?

It actually is that simple. Don't buy it.

So you're saying that because the costume that ZoS is going to release is not what you would describe as "good" when compared to the original design, it's not as simple as not buying it? It becomes much more complex because the costume that is going to be released is a modified version of the original design? This makes the choice of not purchasing it much more deep and complicated? Not just a simple choice?

I'm looking at the game case and it says "Rated M for Mature" I think ZOS needs to stop trying to make this game "Family friendly" and remember that most ppl who play this are over the age of 18. The original designs were not overly sexual or racy.

I like this costume a lot more than the original preview version and the nord hero outfit, will grab if I have the crowns at the time. Of course it's going to be disappointing to lack things like the cape-y bits from the trailer, but I'd be surprised through the roof if these costumes did have those things.

To be honest, the newer modified Altmer hero costume looks better than the old one. The old one looks very tacky and uninspiring. Plus I doubt they could get Blur quality outfits into the game anyway since they would look out of place. Nonetheless I have been saving my crowns specifically for the hero costumes and will be added into my collection I cannot wait for the Breton hero costume.

The change can't have anything to do with wanting to make it more "family friendly". It simply cannot be the reason, it is impossible. If this was the case, they wouldn't be releasing the two Bosmer outifits. They are literally on the same showcase and show much more skin.

To all the people in here dismissing the OP by parroting "just don't buy it", may I ask what your point is?

The point of this thread is expressing feedback about the quality of the costume as it will be offered on the crown store vs the actual appearance of the outfit in the trailers it is based on. Would any of you disagree that the crown store version fails to live up to the quality of the character in the trailers? For those of you who still feel the costume looks good all the same, is there any reason you would be opposed to it looking more true to the original?

In light of this, how is "just don't buy it" a valid criticism or response in any way? If a bakery sells stale bread, are customers not entitled to complain and ask for fresh bread? It goes without saying that they won't buy it, but it's intellectually dishonest to use that to shut down valid criticism.

Exposed thighs or no (I actually like both looks, it'd be nice if they'd give us the CHOICE of which we want) there's no way I'm paying what they are going to ask for these. I skipped the last "Hero" costume for the same reason.

Good luck breaking her shields first while she's hitting you with lightnings. :)
If you saw this character in promotional movie, she's a sorceress that uses magical shields.
Besides, pants are not going to stop any kind of blade anyway. Not that its an issue though, light armor is worn by mages who can heal or shield themselves.

Male version makes sense but the female version should have the exposed inner thighs like the Cinematic Altmer lady. Not for pervy reasons but just because that is one point of the armor that is very noticeable, so for those who were looking forward to looking like the Altmer Hero female its a fail.

This doesn't surprise me though, ZoS has a habit of censoring and making female character's less feminine. I believe it's also a theme that ties into a lot of political correctness existing in the game as well. Someone at ZoS is very aware and sensitive too the various factions of social justice seekers on the net and is being very careful about not #triggering them.
