VD+MD in non cp campaign is too much

Well VD is honestly not that good unless you place your self to fight people stacked. In my use I found the set to not be worth it on templar for playing in a small group. As a non magic race the stat losses where too significant to justify using it. I found that the explosion was small enough that it only felt useful against people essentially stacking on top of each other. There where certainly some moments where I liked it, but I felt that over 80% of the time VD was just gimping my stats.

Yep, the only time i've died to VD was when one of my group members ran into me as they died and then I died, and I'm in no way upset about that. It's a balanced set, it's only unbalanced in the eyes of filthy ball groups.

The VD that you see on your death recap when you die alone is a UI error. It's the damage clocked by your own VD explosion when you die, but it doesn't actually deal damage to you. I've tested this. The VD detonates as you hit 0 health, and then you die. It's a funky order of operations that results in the VD popping up in your death recap.

I agree completely. VD burst builds are bad for anything other than bombing stacked groups. It's a wasted 5 set bonus against unstacked players and the build usually has no sustain as it's designed for pure burst. And in many cases, only 15s of burst every 45s.

Besides, the 2.3 changes to Proxy det are causing the most pain to stacked groups. VD is definitely useful in these scenarios, but the hype it's getting far exceeds its actual impact.

i use vd on my magicka sorc, i may lose about 150 SD from julianos? i dont need them
see a AoE+proxy zerg? spam inevitable detonation on them until the area is clean
i help fixing the lag in PvP on the cost of 150SD. its cheap.
