"Microsoft has announced its support for Cross-Network Play, allowing Xbox owners to play games with anyone on PC or PlayStation." This was one of the reasons that there has been no cross-platform support for ESO (that being, Microsoft wouldn't allow it). Now that Microsoft have given the green light for it, such things may be possible. Would you like to see ZOS implement cross-platform play opportunities, if their servers could be adjusted to support it? No guarantee that they could, of course, as their servers may not be capable of it.

people on consoles will start to QQ
PC players have add ons
PC players have better controls
etc etc etc
Console players would be great ap. I love the idea. I cannot wait for the rage on the forums. Christmas would come early. One of those win wins I always hear about.
It wwould only be a win win until the console players got all up in arms over PC uses having add-ons that made it unfair for them.
THEN we'd lose our add-ons.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Gaming quite literally started from one unified platform. Microsoft is taking steps to make Gamers unified again. Not in what system they play on, but in the unified field of "Online" game play.ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »Sorry.

To sum up what I'm seeing here, there's at least 3 big reasons why not.
Add ons. Even if ZOS put the combat and buff tracking ones in, we'd soon hear complaints about other ones such as MM, Awesome Guild Store, Skyshards, Lorebooks, Cyrhud etc. "It's not fair they can sell better/buy better/see more info in Cyro/level skill lines faster"
Communications. How do you hook them all up?
Patches. Hell no, I don't want to wait for the console manufacturers to approve them when I don't need to.
Don't see it happening. ZOS doesn't want to do that much work and many players from all platforms would be unhappy.
PlayStation has been supporting cross-platform play between PC on several software titles starting with Final Fantasy 11 on PS2 and PC back in 2002,” reads the statement from the corporation.
“We would be happy to have the conversation with any publishers or developers who are interested in cross platform play.
I choose to play on console becouse i dont want "addon wars".
Simple interface addons like mini-map -> why not?
Some "power" addons like auto-use HP potion when HP <X% -> nope, just nope.

In conclusion, i total agree with @Efaritay .
IF Sony and MS make a deal
and IF ZOS want to use this new feature
Make cross play XO - PS4, not console - PC

Where is the dislike button?

There's no reason for you to apologize, you (probably) aren't one of the key decision makers for this.
But don't let elitism or rampant paranoia spawned by lack of any concrete details derail attempts to unify the three major gaming platforms.
Anyone who says that his would be "horrible" for Gaming as a hobby/industry, or says that it would "be the end of" Gaming, is just reacting out of blind paranoia.
Even without any concrete details of how this will be implemented, this promises to be a huge step forward for the future of Gaming as a hobby/industry.
I've been Gaming for over thirty years. In that time, I've seen Gaming go from entirely PC/Mac to consoles of all sorts. There's also been the rise of some of the most vitriolic hatred between the PC v. Xbox v. PlayStation v. Nintendo v. Sega platforms. This is a chance to bring more and more Gamers playing together on bigger fields of the Internet, and to connect more Gamers than ever before.
If people are hating on this idea, then they are just being blind to the wide open possibilities that are being opened by this decision from Microsoft.
I personally hope that Zenimax Media LLC, Zenimax Online Studios, BethSoft, and BGS are not done discussing this. I hope that a discussion about the possibilities will be ongoing, and will be modified as more details emerge. But I most sincerely hope that this discussion is not D.o.A. simply because of the irrational fears of a minor number of people.
Don't let the "We have no plans at this time" statement that you made earlier yesterday become "we will never do this".
Because this move by Microsoft has too much promise and potential for greatness and unity of this industry to just let it die this early in the nascent conversation.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope it makes it's way up the ladder to the head guys/gals at Zenimax.
Vampire, out.
