Would you like to see ZOS implement cross-platform play opportunities, if their servers could be adjusted to support it? No guarantee that they could, of course, as their servers may not be capable of it.

As long as they don't ask us to compromise on the PC features. I probably wouldn't like a ban on addons (I'd quit), also, don't expect me to listen to their voice communication. So I expect communicating with the console community could be a problem. Also I expect them to perform less efficiently in PvE and PvP due to not having KB/Mouse. May -sound- elitist, but it really isn't

I'm leaning to a no. I don't think it would work out for the better.

Console players would be great ap. I love the idea. I cannot wait for the rage on the forums. Christmas would come early. One of those win wins I always hear about.

It wwould only be a win win until the console players got all up in arms over PC uses having add-ons that made it unfair for them.
    THEN we'd lose our add-ons.

    And then we'd quit playing.

@ZOS_GinaBruno Gaming quite literally started from one unified platform. Microsoft is taking steps to make Gamers unified again. Not in what system they play on, but in the unified field of "Online" game play.

There's no reason for you to apologize, you (probably) aren't one of the key decision makers for this.

But don't let elitism or rampant paranoia spawned by lack of any concrete details derail attempts to unify the three major gaming platforms.

Anyone who says that his would be "horrible" for Gaming as a hobby/industry, or says that it would "be the end of" Gaming, is just reacting out of blind paranoia.

Even without any concrete details of how this will be implemented, this promises to be a huge step forward for the future of Gaming as a hobby/industry.

I've been Gaming for over thirty years. In that time, I've seen Gaming go from entirely PC/Mac to consoles of all sorts. There's also been the rise of some of the most vitriolic hatred between the PC v. Xbox v. PlayStation v. Nintendo v. Sega platforms. This is a chance to bring more and more Gamers playing together on bigger fields of the Internet, and to connect more Gamers than ever before.

If people are hating on this idea, then they are just being blind to the wide open possibilities that are being opened by this decision from Microsoft.

I personally hope that Zenimax Media LLC, Zenimax Online Studios, BethSoft, and BGS are not done discussing this. I hope that a discussion about the possibilities will be ongoing, and will be modified as more details emerge. But I most sincerely hope that this discussion is not D.o.A. simply because of the irrational fears of a minor number of people.

Don't let the "We have no plans at this time" statement that you made earlier yesterday become "we will never do this".

Because this move by Microsoft has too much promise and potential for greatness and unity of this industry to just let it die this early in the nascent conversation.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope it makes it's way up the ladder to the head guys/gals at Zenimax.

You think that, but there were several games where there was cross platform, namely shadowrun way back when where Console players constantly and consistantly beat PC players. I dont want to get into a flame war, but not all PC players are god and not all console players are trash.

To sum up what I'm seeing here, there's at least 3 big reasons why not.

Add ons. Even if ZOS put the combat and buff tracking ones in, we'd soon hear complaints about other ones such as MM, Awesome Guild Store, Skyshards, Lorebooks, Cyrhud etc. "It's not fair they can sell better/buy better/see more info in Cyro/level skill lines faster"

Communications. How do you hook them all up?

Patches. Hell no, I don't want to wait for the console manufacturers to approve them when I don't need to.

Don't see it happening. ZOS doesn't want to do that much work and many players from all platforms would be unhappy.

The console QA might be a good thing for this game to be honest, considering how HORRIBLE the patches are.

Also, as for add ons. FO4 is releasing mods for xb1, so they could release add ons as well for console.

I choose to play on console becouse i dont want "addon wars".
Simple interface addons like mini-map -> why not?
Some "power" addons like auto-use HP potion when HP <X% -> nope, just nope.

In conclusion, i total agree with @Efaritay .
IF Sony and MS make a deal

There are no such addons available in the client API.

Any and all addons are "visual" only - such as texts, images, information gathered and displayed - all of which is already in the game, just slightly modified and snipped to make it more organized/easier to use.
For example - minimap is just a snippet of the main map, pinned in the corner.
Master merchant addons and such are just all data available in guild history etc consolidated and displayed in a single window etc - nothing outside of visual enchancements/modifications is available via addons.

If someone uses something that auto-potions you when on low health - it is a bot/hack software, which are in fact illegal and not supported in any shape or form.

WoW, finally a reason to like MS. How long it took 20 year. They better not merge PC and console players. Come on, PC has like 1000 times more hackers too, so that said PC and console merge means they are putting consoles in a risk.

I can see them being able to do cross platform with PS4 and Xbox One, but throwing PC in the mix would put a lot of strain on the servers.

However I think it would be awesome if they could do all 3 so i could play with my friends who have it on Xbox, but i won't hold my breath.

I'm glad ZOS have no plans to do this:
    • Server capacity/Lag
    • Gammer tags (names) I don't want to change mine - Also don't want those known scammers to be able to change their name tags either
    • Guilds and traders - there are already too many competing for the 'top spots'. That means being part of 5 guilds would no longer be viable for me I only have one trader guild and my main sometimes gets a trader. We'd need 10 guild slots. Many guilds would miss out and/or start disintegrating, forcing people to once again join the elitist traders and be 'forced' to comply with the stated prices.
    • PC accounts already have there PC account and Console account - not fair to 'pick & choose' which would be used. Let's face it if they still have the millions on the pc, they'll just put their console gold in someone else's bank then choose their pc account and have double again (just like some did when transferring) Creating further Elitist trader guilds trying to control the market.
    • Leaderboards - Would the prize pool and leaderboards be extended? You now have 3 different platforms competing for the same pool size.
    • Market crash (bar the pc transfers) - There is already a huge recognizable price difference in gear being sold across platforms. This would cause market chaos for months as the supply/demand will be everywhere. Many will exploit this fluctuation and others will loose out, possibly loos profits in many areas.

I had some further issues in my head but my minds gone blank as usual xD I would not welcome the cross-platform idea personally i think too much upset would be caused
