Rapid Maneuver Change - Good or Bad?

With the TG update, Rapid Maneuver has been changed so that it breaks if you cast any skill, that affects any player except yourself. Its quite a big change when it comes to group PvP so I would like to hear about peoples first impressions.

    It's horrible. They thought it would slow down zergs (and it did) but didn't realize what it will do to smaller groups trying to kite and heal said zergs. Aswell when going into chokepoints etc.

    Really bad change imo.

    It really screwed over magicka classes, especially support classes, especially magicka classes with group healing. See a pattern?
    It's odd they messed with mobility in the first place. Sprinting speed was buffed, but normal movement speed seems sluggish.

    Question. You said the effect breaks if you cast in ability that affects another player other than yourself. Does that mean if you cast an ability like cloak on yourself, rapid maneuvers does not break? I am on PS4 and have not been able to test this yet. Thank you.

    The rapids nerf needs to go. Wrobel implemented it because this is supposed to be the anti-group patch and he's trying to kill ball groups, but guess what, even with perma roots and no barriers we're still winning. I give him a one finger salute for his efforts, and request that he undo the damage this change has done for all styles of pvp.

    You don't even have to pvp to realize what the meta has become. You can literally stand on top of a wall and watch people fighting and realize how slow everyone is moving.

    If dealing damage breaks speed, i don't see why repairing damage shouldn't. They are two sides of the same coin. The change addresses an inconsistency that has been there since release.

    Ofc it´s affecting DK and Templar the most as they have no access to a magica based runspeed morph (that should be subject to change). Rapid with speed + soft cc immunity while healing was too powerful. This should under no circumstance be subject to change again.

    If people in bigger grps don´t like it - it´s a good change. You´re not supposed to like it. It was meant to hurt.

    It has absolutely no effect on our 3 to 6 person grps (apart from enemies not being able to chase as good because their bol spamming healers can´t keep up with DDs - which is good).

    It's stupid to slow the game down. People want fast-paced action. There is a reason why having a fast 40 time is so important in the NFL. The game is better when its faster. It's the same here. Why slow the game down?

    Is that a joke? Try playing a small group trying to kite bombard and snare spammers while trying to heal/purge of the debuffs of the enemy zerg chasing you xD

    Big groups still have the numbers on their side, small group doesnt.

    Edit: wops didn't see who posted it. This affects smaller groups harder than big ones imo. In big groups I got the protection of aoe caps, more heals, more damage dealers. When I play small groups, you need to be able to kite and rebuff/heal up. With this change that's not possible unless you want to be permarooted and snared to death while all their friends come running after you.This change pushes ppl into bigger groups I think.

    I like it because it was stupid that CC was worth nothing especially if you only heal = perma root immune

    For our small scale style it's def. a good change. And of course it should hurt the larger grps.

    I think i'd be perfect if the speed buff from rapid was a bit higher. If you're not able to cast anything, you should be able to run faster than those who got the buff from somewhere else and who can still dps/heal, just my opinion. Other than that, it's better in this state than it was before

    For retreating manvours I think this is good, the skill is meant to be a GTFO/RUN AWAY!!! skill.

    Maybe something to make the other morph more appealing would be to allow the use of healing etc. with it.

    So you have the choice of a snare removal run away morph or a no snare removal but can use skills morph.

    Why would you not want your allies to be faster. It is not a PvE skill, it is an Alliance War skill, designed to help your team.

    The change to Rapids is also a crypto-nerf to magicka nightblades who used Major Expedition to stack with Concealed Weapon for extra speed. Not only has Cloak been nerfed but so has our movement. And we still can't stack as much damage as stamina players. Thanks Eric.

    There's Double Take. It's a mobility nerf to stam NB maybe, although I'd use Double Take on those as well personally.

    i can't tell yet. at first glance, it seems to make the game slower and punish what used to be "good play" (imo).

    however, it significantly seems to remove the "choo choo" feeling (even in very small groups moving through whatever you wanted was fairly valid, only stopping would get you killed).

    I can't really tell yet, if this will lead to awesome new positional play or to static zergs.
    I haven't palyed too much but it's great I saw less 1-button blob players and somewhat scary how valid a streak+siege playstyle seems to be.
