I hope they release crown versions along with the homes and I hope they have different areas in each zone or something.
hoping for a minimum of 100k gold to buy one or some bonus for having eso plus to make it worth having

100k is just BS, i have been playing on, and off since beta, and i have never had more the 30k, at 1 time, GTFO with your rich ass.

Wow. I don't know what you do in game, but I can make 30k in a couple hrs. 100k is not that hard, and thats fair price. Thats what the monster helms will sell for with Cyrodiil venders.

Perhaps if you dedicate more of your time to a trade guild, but from a purely PvE standpoint, getting 30k in a couple of hours is difficult imo. This is especially true for the more casual player, who will be lucky to get 5 to 8k in single play session (depending on how long that session is of course).

I wouldn't mind paying upwards of 500k for the first tier. It's a house! Unless they end up being shanties or small sized studio apartments, then I don't mind whatever the cost is.... If there's a will there's a way.

I’m not sure what I’d be able/willing to pay for housing. I would expect it to include storage and while being expensive in a one time sum, to still be a better deal over all than an equivalent number of bank expansion costs. I would imagine it would be more than horses (maybe 2-3 times that?), but I don’t think I’d want to see it be a multi-million kind of thing. The main question I think is how useful will a house even BE, if it’s not terribly useful then people will be much less willing to save up and buy one.

    About Gold:
I think an important thing to consider is that, from what I can tell, the people with loads of gold are those who are lucky enough to be in at least one or more good trading guilds with market stalls and who know how to play the market. However, people who aren’t into devoting a lot of time to the trading/economy side of the game (and especially those who are deconstructing loot for crafting xp instead of selling everything) seem unlikely to have a ton of savings unless they really don’t buy anything (horses, repairs, motifs, potions, soul gems, bank upgrades, etc.), and even then nothing like what people make selling rare and high demand items regularly.

To get an idea of what simply Playing (questing + enemy loot) provides I started a character as an experiment who never deposits in the bank and never repairs, never buys anything, and sells everything my crafters aren’t going to use to NPC merchants instead of players in a guild, and so far she’s just reached level 24 and has slightly over 24,000 gold on her. I’m not sure whether the income will continue to come at about the same rate at least till veteran ranks, or if it may increase faster. This is a character that is doing the main questline and all delves in each zone, not trying to level quickly but take time enjoying the game. I’ve been playing her for a few months in what would probably be a fairly casual amount (given that I have a bunch of other characters I also play). At that rate of gold-making a house would be no where in the near future, a thing only for end-game, which to me takes away half the motivation to even get one at all, as the whole point is to be able to to play the game while enjoying the benefits of a house.

As far as what I’d like to see housing be like:
    1. 3 cultural themed homes to choose from per faction, perhaps located in cities that do not already have banks or more isolated scenic locations that are fast-travel-able/have their own wayshrine.
    2. Unlocked account-wide once purchased, but uniquely instanced to the character you are playing if selected as that character’s active home, and available to enter from silver and gold zones (so a level 30 DC character couldn’t ‘live’ in a Bosmer themed home in Malabal Tor, but a veteran rank DC character could).
    3. Additional storage, preferably account-wide like the bank is.
    4. Crafting stations for each craft and dye station.
    5. Interior displays that can be activated upon completion of different quests and achievements to commemorate your character’s journey and accomplishments. Including specific storage-display for things such as trophies and costumes.
    6. Contacts(friends) able to travel to your privately instanced home upon invitation - if from a different faction exiting your home would put them back in their own faction territory, if from your faction they would exit into the normal exterior. This would allow friends with characters of different factions to meet up in their homes, and perhaps do some trading with each other.
    7. Possibly display pet-specific accessories for your character’s active pet, and special animations / free roaming behavior for your pet while there.

Just an FYI, been playing off and on since early access and STILL do not have:

    1) A character that is VR level.
    2) Ever set foot in Cyrodiil.
    3) Gold over 5k.

So...no. Just make housing so you have to gather/purchase materials IN THE GAME(not the store) to construct. No guild membership, no PvP, no stealing.....please.
I am not spending a single penny on the game until changes are made to the game that I want to see.
    1) Remove having to be in a guild to sell items to other players at a kiosk.
    2) Cosmetic modding for armor and clothing.
    3) Difficulty slider.
    4) Fully customizable player housing that isn't tied to anything in the game other than having the correct resources and enough gold to build. Don't tie it to PvP, guild membership, or anything at all. Oh, make it instanced so as not to take up world map space, too. Zeni screwed this one up already.
Any /one/ of these things implemented would get me spending again, maybe even subbing.

i think the storage space shuld be either limitless or based on the furniture like drawer can store upto 50 items and wardrops 100 items such as tht for example. i would also like to hang my weapons on the wall and weapon shack. like in skyrim.

most mmo's will make player housing its own seperate instance, since making houses on actual pve lands will make its difficult to sell the housing to the players as the amount of houses have a cap,adn there are alot of players

so i imagine it will do something like Rift does, making a personal dimension/instance for each character which will be customizable, both landscape and contents, at least thats what i belive they should do

i think the best solution is allow characters to petition the gods, daedra and aedra, for a small slice of thier plane of oblivion/aetherius to call their own. I know i would be happy to have a small house of books in apocypha

I'm hoping housing isn't some half done instanced junk. It should be a combination of things. It should be visible in the PvE world and limited. Instanced house can exist as well. Why can't we have it both ways? Heck why not instanced housing, even instanced communities AND non-instanced homes?

i really dont want housing to be in PVE areas, there is only so much land, so not everyone will get a chance to have one which i think, with all the people calling for player housing, is a very very very bad idea, zos would lose face and money.

the best way to do it is instanced, but that doesnt mean it will be half done, many many mmo's have instanced housing and the wonders people are able to create with them astound me.

That's sort of the point isn't it? For it to be rare and valuable? PvE Housing would be the hottest thing in the game not to mention a fantastic gold sink. If people have the crowns and the time to upkeep a large estate on a non instanced area they should have it. Granted lots would be limited.. but that's a good thing. Make all housing require a subscription. It's the ultimate item. It should cost money. All these people crying out for free stuff have no idea how much REAL money it takes to run a gam of this size. Let's get real, they are in this to make money. And that's a good thing. What's not good is people accepting half done dlc. ( sorry got a bit ranty there) but I don't think having my own little tucked away place is a good idea. I want neighborhoods where I can see guildies houses. Mayne even allow guilds to own instanced cities that anyone can travel to? That would be amazing. Make it cost the guild master crowns, I'll pay money if it means my guild can enjoy the game better as a community. I'm sure most guold master feel the same as would anyone who plays this as a social mmo. All these " solo" players don't have to buy houses in a community. Let them have an instanced home by themselves. But make them pay for it. If they can't contribute to the game for what is most a vanity item, they shouldn't have it.

i have seen things like this before in other mmo's, and it usually turns into a ghost town, people who no longer play the game but still their money sustaining it keeping other players from enjoying it.

I want everyone to enjoy player housing, not just the elite few with the most game money or real money.

I respect your opinion, but drawing from my experiances, i still maintain that fully instanced housing would be a better way to go

It would be nice if they could find a way to make guild instanced towns or a plot of land where we could build next to each other.

This is a great idea. Even if it is instanced, each guild could have their own version of Eyevea. Each guild member could have a home in that Eyevea. That would be awesome.

I think Hearthfire did housing pretty good and I'd hope that there's more to it than just buying a house and walking in. Having said that, I hope, that whilst instanced to "living areas" I hope they take what LOTRO's housing system did well and provide a little instanced community where folks can ride around and see the houses of your neighbours and so forth - decorated to the brim with trophies from raids and instances etc.

That's what I'm hoping for anyway. I'd hate to just run into a zoning hole and voila I'm inside with no real immersion to it other than storage.

Housing isnt going to cost as much as people think. Like someone said Im sure it'll be something like hearthfire. You will have to gather or earn mats possibly. If they wanted to shoehorn in some generic housing they could have done that at launch. I think they are taking their time with it to get it right.
