Alliance Points
  • Doubled the amount of Alliance Points a player character is worth.
  • There is now a cap on Alliance Point bonuses per player in group to a maximum of 50%.

Does this mean that regular XP gain will also increase from player characters?
Can someone explain the 50% maximum group change here?

    Killing a player is worth 950~ ap. This is the base ap, if your on your own you'll get the base ap. If your in a group and your group members are in the area it's split.

    The fact it is doubled means you'll get 1700 ap per kill now, this will not affect XP, just AP.

    The group mechanic is, for every person in your group you get 10% extra ap for a max of 240% on live.

    So if your in a 24 person group and you kill someone, the ap is 950 x 2.4 (240%) = 2280 ap for that kill which is then divided by the group members. 95 ap per kill.

    On pts, the base ap is doubled but the limit of bonus ap is capped at 50%, this is to try and stop zerging by offering more ap gain in a smaller group. So in the same scenerio in a 24 man group you'll get 1700*1.5 (50%)= 2550 which is then again divided by your 24 person group which is 106.

    So on the Pts you'll gain more ap anyway. However.

    If your in a 5 man group you'll get 2550 (max group bonus) and then divide it by 5 which is 510 ap per kill. So in the next patch the best way to gain ap won't be to be in a huge group, it will be in a group of 5. Smaller group will have an advantage in ap gain.

    In both groups kill 1 person, the 5 man will get 550 ap, the 24 man will get 106..

    If both groups kill 5 people, the 5 man will get 2750 ap, the 24 man willg et 530.

    People will seriously gimp themselves off ap if they still zerg up. Especially you pve players who are after vigor/caltraps etc... You'll make the process 5x slower if you zerg up instead of running in a small group with a few friends.

    Buy monster helms sets, go hunting for motif's, buy sieges, Buy the new DLC sets via the vendor.

    Then save up so zos doesn't upgrade the old pvp sets because people have too much ap...
