Damage is high enough that normally a player can strip a hardened ward off with ONE HIT.
But not enough to strip Hardened Ward and Harness Magic, which most sorcs use together.

oh I agree. I hate shield stacking, I believe that damage shields should go into the major/minor system most other abilities fall under. I honestly have no idea how mana builds deal with sorcerers nowadays. Stamina builds can get thru it if they can avoid being burst down, but mana builds? I dont even want to think about the poor templars. lol.

I dont think people understand sustain, too many arguments are made because you dont need 3k magicka regen etc.

No one needs to have 3k regen but if you reach 1.7-2k regen without dedicating many set boni or enchants to improve your regen, you can use the remaining sets boni/enchants to increase your dmg.

Altmer passives let you get good sustain without having to dedicate many set boni/enchants, especially if you have 400+ CP.

    To sum it up:
More sustain from passives=more dmg from gear

    Septimus Rulanir - Orsimer Templar
    Septimus Desmoru - Khajiit Necromancer
Septimus Iroh - Dunmer Dragon Knight
    Septimus Thragar - Dunmer Nightblade
    Septimus Jah'zar - Khajiit Nightblade
    Septimus Nerox - Redguard Warden
    Septimus Ozurk - Orsimer Sorcerer

While that maybe somewhat true, if you cant "sustain" your doing something wrong anyways, if your VR16 and have like 400 plus CPs. Most/all classes have good magic reclaiming damage skills, just need to figure out whats works best for you.

Not even getting into stacking multiple shields, but this is why the magic resistance is useless.

Mainly comes down to spell resistance vs extra elemental damage.

Regen and elemental damage vs spell resistance.

9% regen becomes much, much more when CP and major intellect are brought into the picture.

its prety easy even if you ignore dimnishing returns on spell cost reduction, ask yourself what is more effective:

    3% reduction on a 900-2,5k value
    or a 9% increasement on a 1800-2100 value

as those are the values you reach normally without including any racials...
spelling and grammar errors are free to be abused

Stam builds can strip hardened in one hit no problem, and pretty much one-two shot sorcs. Mana builds, I can only speak from my own experience, and I've been fighting a lot of good sorcs with higher shields than mine, and killing them will usually involve running them a bit out of stamina (with specific combos that they fail to defend from sometimes) and making sure your damage is high enough to do the job.

Nightblades can do this too, templars can do it as well with certain combos from what I've seen. So in the end it just boils down to combos and logic behind your attacks. All classes can do it, and with this passive to do extra damage to shields in the next update, it will be easier definitely.

If not using elemental damage as your main DPS output, Breton is better. Regen is easy to achieve and the extra Spell Resistance matters more than most folks realize.
