Buff Dual Wield skill line

Anyone have any idea how to make dual wield viable besides just spam whirlwind.

Twin shash changed to gap closer that apllies bleed morphs stay the same with added gap closer
Flurry lower channel time as for the morphs blinding flurry should increase the chance to set target off balance. Rapid Strikes the next hit increases dmg by 2% should be changed to 5%
Whirlwind should stay as is
Blade cloak should change to dodge chance and movement speed buff while one of the morphs gives you major brutality
Hidden blade should be changed to immbolizing the target rather than reducing their movement speed

I agree and unless you have maelstrom weapons flurry is only so so. The buff to bleeds will be nice but a gap closer in place blade cloak or whatever it's called that reduces aoe damage.

I think the DW line is pretty viable... not so much in PvP as much as PvE, but still not "bad".

I am 100% for a gap closer form of Rending Slashes/Blood Craze though! The DW style of Crit Rush.

It's a powerful dot which with the change to bleeds will be very good for Stam.

Agreed (assuming we are talking about rapid strikes), however it still takes a long time to "fully cast" in PvP. I've found that players can very easily avoid the animation and in terms cancel the skill. I'm not crying a balance issue by any means, but it just makes the skill extremely replaceable.

I'm taking about slashes I have about 14k over 9 seconds on tooltip not bad really. Ya the channel time on flurry is a bit excessive. Should be 1.1 or even 1 second

I think slashes needs a snare with it to better fit with the passives of dual wield.

Oh! Yes, I very much enjoy slashes how it stands!

You cannot deny that it being a short gap closer would be phenomenal though ;)

If anyone uses, flurry on me in pvp I genuinely laugh.

DW needs a buff. People use it for extra damage to other skills on bar, extra set piece and steel tornado. That's it, no other reason.

I would personally love better healing from blood grace and blade cloack (or what was it) less situational :)

It should be noted that flurry is a dot in the game and will be buffed by the dot cp. This will make a bleed dw build very deadly.

Wb and surprise attack only get buffed once by mighty, but rapid strikes can bw buffed twice, with mighty first, then even more by thaumaturge.

I hope flurry stays a dot, so it will be a viable dps option. Without a second cp star though, it's sub-par to wb and sa.

Yea flurry is not bad as a dot just it does not proc crit surge which sucks as a stam sorc.
I have two chars I use dk and sorc both stam. I am stuck with 2 hander for both for the simple reason of crit rush.I do not get why both classes do not have a reliable stam gap closer.Thats why I think making Twin Slashes into one would be good while still keeping its bleed dmg along with its morphs othereffects.2h has crit rush that alway crits and increases dmg farther you are away.1h shield knocks you down.I do not see why twin slash morph cant be a gap closer that makes your target bleed and heal you.

Honestly I just want to be a cool Dual Wielding Lightning Warrior man.

The only way to use flurry in PVP is by knocking down yor enemy first. DKs with stonefist are the most viable option

But if you dual wield stam dk the only gap closer you would have is empowering chains which is a magicka ability unless you run 2h on your other bar for crit rush, but if you do that it would just be easier just to main 2h and leave dual wield for the side just for whirlwind like a lot of stam players do. Thats why I think its important to change some of the skills.

I know of it I just want to actualy use the skill line and not just that 1 move. Like 1h shield or 2h when i use those for my stam builds I usely us 4 out of 5 of the skills for it but dual wield people only mention steel tornado. I dont think its cuz the skill is op its just to use the rest of the skills will make it your main skill line to attack with but unless you have a good stamina gap closer it wont work well. That is why I want the change for twin slash.I think making it gap closer with the effects that it already does will make it good skill line on par with 2h and 1h shield.

I also do not mind flurry staying as a dot,but what i would like is for crit surge from the sorc tree to allow dots to proc it again or atleadt certain skills like flurry that are counted as dots.

Agree on that. Stam Sorc got Movement and HoT's to stay Alive.
Just allowing that Single Ability proc Surge Heals, Would make Dualwield much better, also not everyone Is forced into 2H.

IMO, DW needs the following. Major brutality (other then flying blade wich requires you to use a target who could reflect it back on you and the duration is 10s so you could potentially get flying blade back in your face every 10 sec when fighting a dk)

A gap closer and a HoT like Momentum (blood craze currently does not procc on shields, and if someone purges it your heal also stops)

    PC EU
    PvP only

Then it would be identical to 2h. Just use 2h..

    1) Flurry is underpowered. Terrible ability for single target DPS. (example: make it to damage for 3-5xLight attack+1xHeavy attack for 1-1.1second).
    2) Flying blade, need some changes. Example: one morph changed it to damage shield ability (yes, stamina based damage shield) with blades whirling around and exploded for some damage after damage shield is end.
    3) Blade cloak need extended duration (around 30sec), and more aura damage.
    4) Twin slashes open damage is laughable, should be changed to 2xLight attack damage for example.

And sure we need Physical damage Ultimates for those who use physical weapons (who spend cp to improve physical damage).

Yeah, no Need for a gap closer here. The healing can be solved as explained above. Every class has Something to Support Movement.

    Sorc got Streak/Boundless Storm
    DK got chains/Leap
    Templar got javelin
    Nb got Ambush/Double Take

I agree. Steel tornado is currently very strong, but the rest of the skill line is just lackluster. 2h is a much more balanced and useful skill tree. DW needs a better source of major brutality (the source is a ranged attack in a melee skill tree?) and some changes that make 4 out of the 5 skills stronger without just replicating the 2h tree.

Twin slashes is fine and will become a very powerful Stam dot it already does decent damage and is somewhat similar to unstable flame it could have a 5 to 10% increase to the dot damage. The initial damage is really not important.

Im not sayin to get rid of the dot for twin slashes just also make it into a gap closer while keeping all of its effects. I think by just doing that will be a great change for dual wield. Think about it 2h has critical charge which always crit and its morphs stampede which snares and crit rush which does more dmg. 1h shield has shield charge that stuns an enemy and its morps. Why not have Twin Slash be a gap closer that applies a bleed dot and its morphs be snare or heal. Would put dual wield on par with the other two melee skill lines without being an exact copy of the two.

Dw has some issues. I wrote this a while ago, but it's still broadly true (although zos are fixing some bleed issues)

Maybe there are some ideas we can get behind in there (see in the spoiler tagged section).
