That's as good a piece of feedback as anyHonestly? I still don't know how to use it. lol. :P
The item is fine, but its name doesn't seem in keeping with Elder Scrolls Lore. "Mimic" in particular makes me think of the monsters that pretend to be chests from SquareEnix games, and I am aware that the word has been used for monsters going all the way back to DnD.
Perhaps instead of "Mimic" the name could be evocative of Illusion or Alteration magic?

I like it. You still need the motif to craft, but not can use these new stones instead of spending hours farming the drops in areas you normally wouldn't spend time.
2 thumbs up!

Did you note which ones? I have used them in Orsinium and Devon's Watch, so it is not all of them outside of Abah's Landing.

Add a "Reforge" tab to crafting.
Place item A in one slot, place item B in another slot, place mimic stone in last slot. Press reforge.
Item A maintains its stats but gains the appearance of item B, mimic stone is consumed. Item B is destroyed. Item A becomes bound.
Works on ALL(crafted AND non crafted) armour and weapons as long as they are of the same type.
The people who want the option to change item appearance due to vanity will get it, Mimic stone gains an additional use and will become permanently needed as new sets will be released so more mimic stones will be bought from the crown store which means more money for ZOS.
Win - win.

If you have to craft an entire item just for the purpose of transmogrifying one item to the second items appearance, it's not that far off from just having to re-craft your item. Still have to get a bunch of materials and re-craft. The higher the material is, the more chance it is to look different so we can't even just use the lowest materials available. We then would have to go find out what level the material is that we want it to look like and craft it to be sure.
The stone, since we pay for it with crowns/real money, should be the only required item and then we use a menu/selection system to pick the style and the sub-style (Level). If we're going to have to pay for these items using our real money, it should be removing the need for wasting any more materials at all or we may as well save our real life money and just farm new mats to build a new item completely.
This item is COMPLETELY NONSENSE if doesnt let you change existing gear. And more if you take into account the insane amount of mats needed for v16. ZOS change this stone and let us change EXISTING gear into any style(that of course you should know) and you will sell this stone a lot. If not, this is just a waste.
I would be totally fine with something requiring a large investment of materials, of course, but I think it should be similar to the dye system in that it's infinite uses once you're fully invested. Maybe by investing some quantity of trait stones you permanently unlock restyling that style for that character, provided they also know the motif? That would also be a good way to tie in these mimic stones. I'd rather spend a few bucks in the crown store than try to grind out all the Dwemer Frames and Malachite Shards that I'd need for that kind of a system. Thoughts?

I like this idea. The one complication I can see--would this be only on motifs you've fully unlocked, or would it be a per-item type cost? EX: If I know Chest, Gloves, and Staves in Glass, and nothing else, do I pay a handful of Malachite for each of those or do I have to get the rest of the Glass chapters to make it restylable? The former would be annoying for people who are missing one or two chapters (Xivkyn Legs, I'm looking at you), but the second would be expensive in terms of materials.
