The Dominion Character "Bug"

Hi. When we do random dungeons through the group finder, every player in the group has a yellow (Aldmeri Dominion) PvP Rank, despite some of them actually being from the Daggerfall or Ebonheart faction.

I've noticed this when me and my brother joined a dungeon and we were both shown as AD, and even the friend list shows me as a AD player, when I'm actually EP? (PS4 By the way, not sure if Xbox One are experiencing the same.)

I know I'm a High Elf with a Dominion tattoo on my chest, but come on!

It's been like this ever since they added cross-faction grouping.

Their expedient solution was to make everyone the same faction while inside the group instance. It's not an elegant solution, but I suspect it was probably the easiest/fastest solution they could cook up. As for why everyone is homogenized to AD instead of DC or EP, well, they had to pick one of them, and AD won the dice toss?

Oh, and for fun, you could port yourselves into DSA after forming the group to see what cross-faction grouping would look and behave like if they didn't do this convert-everyone-to-the-same-faction hack. (And, yes, I've beaten DSA with a group like this. It was amusing.)

They should rotate it or something. Make it all AD one month, all EP the next and all DC the one after that  Make it somewhat fair at least. Also, DK banners with eagles scare me.

This was definitely a hack put in for cross-faction grouping. Hopefully it's just a short-term solution and they are looking into a way to avoid having to do this in the long run.

As for why they chose AD and not one of the other alliances, AD is given the Global value of 1, so it "comes first" in the internal ordering.
