    crafting needs some love
you can preview a costume in crown store, so the tech is already ingame.

    I agree.
It's a long time waiting development. The preview was important till the crown store ready.
But it needed a lot of motif is already in the game and its number will only grow.

Needed because it takes 150 mats to make a single piece.

Why should we need to go outside game to see how armor look like honest it is stupid and dont tell me it is hard to add for we have preview for costumes in crown store so it should be so hard to fix it.

    @IrishGirlGamer

I total agree with you the should add preview to carft as well. I know it take to add thing and the ZoS have more import thing to fix 1st but due to the fact that many off us have play other MMO and the we have got use to something being in game from start ZoS should look to other MMO that have been around to see what thing the have to make our life easyer for in fact it is small thing to make worth living if you know what i mean

The thing about the crown store items is that the they're already in a crafted state so it's just about fitting it to the character. I can see it being down but they are more steps that would be needed.

agreed, a crafting preview would be nice. a gear preview from any source would be even nicer, bags, bank guild store, vendor.

Agreed. I wasted avout 300 rubite ore as when i crafted greeves and chest i really disliked the style so i had to craft more

Completely agree.. Would be awesome, and all the functions are already in the code..

Just reuse the code that you use for armor dying. The viewer I mean.

I was crafting a new set for one of my characters yesterday, and the biggest challenge I had was trying to figure out which pieces looked good in combination. I ended up having to recraft several items in another style. This would have been avoided by a viewer.

I always craft the armor I would be making for my VR16 at VR9 first, as I have heaps of the shadow mats hanging around and it helps me see the look of it. It helped me realise that the Khajiit light pants look like pyjamas, so I didn't waste all that sink on them.

I just crafted a full set of VR15 primal medium before I realised how dorky it looks.

So I went & bought a costume from the crown store to cover it up.

Add my +1 to the preview feature request.

Also weapons, I went through like 6 different 2 hd swords before i found one that i liked, but I made them all with lower lvl mats i happen to have at the time and tried on each one. The thumb nail doesn't look like most of the actual weapons. So ya a preview would rule.

I disagree; my medium Breton armour looks absolutely awful. For me, when in doubt make a full set of Mercenary as they just look absolutely amazing IMO.

I really liked Mercenary on male characters but when I crafted a set for my female templar (having been unable to find a preview anywhere online) it looked absolutely awful on her.

I use the ESO fashion site currently but it is missing a lot of pieces, even older styles. A lot of older styles I go to check out and it will have pictures of males but not females, or just be missing a certain level/material of the set. I'd have no problem using a website provided it was connected to the game directly, updated the minute (even before!) a new motif was released and with every set shown in every level group. It wouldn't be the best option but I'd be happy to at least have that.

As for costumes, I don't find them an option because they aren't dyeable and I dislike the way they look in the original state. I'd previewed one of the soul shriven costumes and thought it was ugly, but recently crafted a set for my NB and liked it - once it was dyed. I'd be a lot more willing to get some costumes to cover up the ugly armor I accidentally craft if they were able to be dyed.

Totally agree, the first time you see an armor or weapon should not be on a fan made independent website.

Skyrim had the idea albeit a little different setup.

The ESO crafting screen, in game, should show an item at full size and be rotatable to enable a considered and not wasted decision when crafting.

There are so many armors and weapon styles that are probably not crafted, that might be, if only they could be interpreted.

This is such a standard basic feature I have no idea why it hasn't been in the game from the start. 3 major DLC's later and it's STILL not there. Makes absolutely no sense to me. Did ZOS really sit there and decide 'nah they wouldn't want to see what they're crafting, it's fine' what an oversight.

I agree, I'd really like this system. At the moment I'm very wary of crafting sets in case they end up looking terrible, but then the alternative is to use dropped pieces, which can also look terrible.

It would be really great to be able to preview a piece before making it, and as people have said since most of the functionality is already there for dye and crown store previews it seems like it should be possible to put something in place.

One day this will be one of those things you talk about when reminissing the "old" days... when you couldnt preview armor.

The preview may require a lot of coding so I dont see this coming any time soon. One thing that really frustrates me is the differences in color treatments of what I assume are different materials in an item. A good example is me blasting 400K on the pact crafting style 3 days after TG launched only to find out that you can barely color those pieces...shields are also a mess and impossible to match with your armor...

Brilliant idea. I would love to be able to preview the gear before i dedicate to crafting, maybe even gear i can't craft just to see what it looks like anyway.

Outlaw armour looks pretty cool also. I mix and match med and light outlaw and merc armour. You can come up with some great looking armour. If you have spare crowns (ie ESO plus), make a one time investment in mimic stones or buy laurels in guild stores if you need them to make merc style. The nice thing about both merc and outlaw styles is that when dyed, the cloth and leather pieces actually look like dyed cloth and leather. Instead of some neon/dayglow color or a washed out lighter color.
