Crafting Idea | Trade-In Upgrade Materials

Since most of us can agree that our banks/bags fill up with Green & Blue quality (even Epic, I forgot to add that in the image...) Upgrade materials and we end up either deleting them, vendoring them (for 0 gold,) selling them on the guild traders or keeping hold of them. Now, what if it was possible to trade them in for a legendary material?

It's pretty simple. There could be an NPC that lets you trade in 200 resins OR 100 Rare reins OR 20 Epic quality resins for 1 Legendary resin.

I really like this idea. I have no idea if those quantities would be the best but the idea is awesome.

Thanks and I agree, I weren't sure what kind of numbers would seem reasonable so I just thought I'd go with those for now, but the idea in itself would be awesome because those kind of upgrade materials seem to just go to waste, like I've personally deleted/vendored probably over 1000 by now. Lol

Refine 10 Hemming to 1 Embroidery.
Refine 10 Embroidery to 1 Elegant Lining.
Refine 10 Elegant Lining to 1 Dreugh Wax.

1000 greens for 1 gold seems about right. This shouldn't be a viable main source of gold mats, but rather a sink for excess lower-end mats.

Yeah! I think it shouldn't be a viable way either, that way it won't turn gold mats into worthless items. Keep the cost high so its not really viable BUT if you have extremely excessive amounts of those mats its then worth it.

Hey if you're just throwing them away, then think of my eso mailbox as a trash bin. I wouldnt mind relieving you of the burden of holding them ... ;)

In all seriousness I have been struggling to get even the lower level ones. Probably get one for every one hundred things I break down.

OP, I really like your idea though. Definitely behind that one.

Haha really though? because... they mostly come from all the random bits of green/blue/purple gear drops I get in Imperial City (farming,) Dungeons, treasure chests and PvP rewards of the worthy. They stack up over time, but I keep 200 of each in my bank just to be on the safe side because as you can imagine, they never run out once you have a stack, especially if you also do writs and get hirelings, they give the materials quite often too, but it all comes down to deconstruction mostly.

Exactly! because I've pondered on what kind of ways there could be to get legendary upgrade materials without having to rely on Hirelings, Writs and Refining, and then this idea popped up.

I wouldn't even mind if it was a super expensive exchange, because even then, I'd have incentive to hold onto all of my green & blue materials knowing that I can exchange them for a legendary one or two. B)

It would be nice if this was possible. If Aspect Runes could be part of this system too, it would be great.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

ASPECT RUNES! how could I forget about those...

I definitely support that idea too. Those white and green runes pile up so quickly.
