probably going to get majorly trolled,
but i actually have been thinking about this more and more, makes sense to me lol
sometimes (on ps4) i think it would be good just to have the option to do the 1- 50 quests in an "offline mode" (obviously you wouldnt be stuck in that mode. just quests, IC , cyrodiil etc disabled, because what would happen if your ps plus lapses for a few days, or a problem with the internet etc, this game becomes a bit of plastic.
whats peoples thoughts?

I've always thought that maybe just the 1-50 and main storyline could be done offline while anything else (veteran, Champion, and group content) would absolutely require connection. There are times I have to go out of town and hotel wireless isn't always reliable, I'd enjoy being able to level an alt while I am away.
While you can't avoid the other people that are around, you can set yourself to be "Offline" so that no one can see if your in the game or contact you. At least on the PC you can. Not sure if you have that choice on the console and what all it hides. I also wonder if you can do this if you still get the voice chat.
An offline mode means everything has to be client-side. If everything is client-side then people can create hacks that give them unlimited gold tempers, VR16 gold Warlock jewelry, etc.

people would find a way to do some gnarly stuff I think or something
Elder Scrolls Online.
The clue is in the name
The game's world is in an online space and would be far too large to host on a disc as per a single player game.
I'm sure an Elder Scrolls VI will come along.

Oh I'm aware, but there are times when it would be convenient, that's all I'm saying.

The Elder Scrolls: Legends is basically their on-the-go solution for the brand.
There will never be a legal single player option for this game. "[P]lay the way you want" is always going to be referenced from an online game development philosophy. And you'll always need a verified account to play, so there's really no such thing as "offline."
Yeah limited access would be kind of nice. Like being able to check mail you received while the server is down for maintenance for instance. Or being able to check on research times. It could look like how it does when you lose connection. Basically what happens is everyone disappears but you. And you can only do a certain amount of things before you get kicked out of the game. Usually you're only able to walk around.Elder Scrolls Online.

oh i know lol, dont get me wrong i enjoy being online etc, just be nice to have that option, and not from a hackers point, as im not always connected, be nice to have "limited" access to the game, if that makes sense
Why join an MMO to play offline? Not being snarky,it's just that it seems weird. What's the difference of being online or off.You can still get the quests done.
Unless you have dial up with limited online time.
Net Zero?
...that's the first I thought of when I read "offline mode". That that in a nutshell is why its a baaaaad idea to mix offline and online gameplay... too much potential for "gnarly stuff" (and we all know if it was possible, some people -would- do it)An offline mode means everything has to be client-side. If everything is client-side then people can create hacks that give them unlimited gold tempers, VR16 gold Warlock jewelry, etc.

It's a pipe dream entirely built on those times when you have limited access (in my case bad hotel wi-fi).
