Would you be in favour or against more gore in ESO?

I think, since ESO has a mature rating..... lets go for it.

It's hard not to miss the joys of Skyrim like sneaking up behind a necromancer and slitting their throat brutally..... or swinging a sword and seeing your enemy's head sail away.

It would also fit so nicely with the upcoming arrival of the Dark Brotherhood in the game.

    What do you think ?

YES! PLEASE! For a mature rated game, it does come across as a little 'young' in its execution at times.

I am aware of it - from a commercial standpoint of view it is not going to happen.

Still, I am pretty certain that it would change PvP to the better - I find it pretty annoying that it does not matter if I would kill someone, because he will be back pretty soon and I would have to face him over and over and over again in the same battle or he me - this is not a battle to me - killed enemies stay killed, they do not fight again and again and again in the same battle - this is what makes me not want to take part in PvP too often, I don't like kiddies, who just run into battle, cause havoc until they get killed - rinse and repeat just the same - I want a kill to matter for at least as long as this battle will be going on - so that I do not have to face the same guy in the same battle again and he not me, if I get killed.

You want a game where people are stuck on the sidelines? Good luck with that. I suppose if you find a large enough market of misanthropes, that could have a chance.

You got me wrong - I want a game where it actually matters what you do - as it is now it does not matter, it is just rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat - to me this is not fun, it does not matter at all if I kill someone or not - he will be back in short, there is no achievement in this - he will just be back like a freaking zombie and do just the same again and again and again. No one has to be cautious and play carefully, because it does not matter if he gets killed, it has no real consequence to it. That is why I do not like this and why PvP is so unappealing to me - someone, which I killed, will not stay dead for more than a loading screen lasts - so where is the whole point of killing someone then, if he will be just right back - I do not get it.

Thats why u cant rez in locations that are contested. That person will not be back like a zombie.... It will take that person alot longer then that to run all the way back to the fight. Your point is moot if this is the direction youre taking heh.

Ok, thank you, Jumper45 for clarification of this point - I am new to ESO and expected the respawn system to work like in PvE as well. So I am looking forward now to an enjoyable time in Cyrrodil, once I will be ready to go there.

Don't really care for more gore, bleed effects are enough. And so are the "finishers" like disintegration, burning, and frozen, those are really cool effects.

However, it would be fun to be able to take your opponents head as a trophy in PvP. Would be even more fun if the trophy was trade-able (not bound) so you could put bounties on people.

The devs never intended the game to be Mature rated, so they never built in the impossibly large number of physics and animation systems needed to add gore like in Skyrim and they never will.

As already mentioned above .... think less Skyrim........ and instead just Youtube "Age of Conan" fatalities....

that would give you a better idea of what could easily be achieved in an MMO like ESO

YES! I would support that 100% man. An option to turn gore on/off would be awesome

Teso could learn from AoC and it's fatalities.

Personally, no. If it is added I wouldn't really care as long as I could turn it off. It seriously breaks my immersion. Gore is usually excessive (which I guess is the point). As someone who grew up on a farm where we butchered our own stock, it just isn't like that. Not to mention, it smells horribly. My background is likely a minority, but that is my vote.

I don't understand how it breaks immersion? Could you explain? Hitting someone with a sword and they fall over with no cuts, nothing to show for is an immersion breaker. I also lived on the farm, and seen the same stuff. I don't think people want to see that. A cut throat, head going flying. That should not have us going through flash backs of our farm life.

Sure. It is like uncanny valley. Since I have some idea of how it should look, it being present and both obviously wrong and obviously gratuitous is an immersion breaker. I'm also known for busting out laughing in horror movies too. Same problem. Once it (immersion) is gone it pops like a bubble. Takes a bit to get back. When something is absent, like another poster hinted at, your imagination will fill in as needed.

But as long as I can turn it off, I don' t really care.

Yes, I really, really want more bloody mess!
Blood splattering, body party flying, grisly, gorey guts all over the battlefield!
I mean, I feel like... as if I just had my armor cleaned, and miss the bloodstains already... ;)

All of your reasons @lolo_01b16_ESO could be addressed with Brutality Pack DLC (As suggested by me here: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/222351/brutality-pack-concept/p1)

Don't want it? Don't download it.

Country wouldn't allow it? Don't release it in those territories.

Now there can be blood. :naughty:
...and that'd be how to do it IMO! Those who want it pay extra for seeing more gore, those who don't want to, don't.

Played other games with high gore levels. Does it bother me? No. Simply because its a game. Doubt this game is going to change gore levels though. Either way, I'm no bothered.
