New Items Available in the Crown Store - 12/3 (all platforms)

Just because it's in the crown store doesn't mean you have to buy it. Just like anything in the crown store, it is up to players to keep it there and keep it high priced. Vote with your wallet.

Remember how everyone freaked out with the first store items.
Then with the first exclusives.
Then he consumables.
Then the horse upgrades.

This happens every time they try or do something new. This doesn't effect YOUR game. People have been able to pay to get ahead of the curve since we went BTP, more so with XP Scrolls.

When they release something which directly effects the game play of others, then we have a problem. Until then it will be rages as normal here before everyone returns to complaining about the current FOTM class.

Lastly I will make the age old case, they can offer things which sell and help them run the servers, or they can turn them off and we all go back to other MMO games which have committed far worse crimes than ZOS.

I don't normally post things here, but I'm seeing a hugely negative opinion of this coming to the store. I don't see a problem with it tbh, although I do think that the option to do the quest should be provided in-case the person that bought the bite in the store wanted to enjoy the content that the quest associated with the bite provided.

As long as they dont add anything that requires a player to spend crowns in order to be competitive then I dont really care what they release... as long as the game keeps making money then they will keep supporting it which is what I want since I love the game.

In game purchases usually only make a game go south when it requires a player to spend money in order to be among the higher ranked players....
Ie. a low leveled vampire/werewolf is still a low-level vampire/werewolf.... if they start to allow players to reach vet lvls by paying crowns then yes it will take away from the in game experience drastically.

So I am all for cosmetic purchases.... nothing better than being one of the few to own a wasp mount or whatever unique mount you pick because you care enough about the game to spend the real world monies...

The Vampire/Werewolf is a grey area in my opinion.... it is cosmetic but has super powerups at the same time...but my impression is that you still need to lvl your character in order to take advantage of those powerups.
But, in defense of the concerns of the other commenters.... since it is a grey area... it is a potential for being a slippery slope of crown store content...

If anything I would suggest having limited time mounts and armor motifs more frequently.... I dare say I would be willing to part with my money for those things, especially when they become more rare when it is only available in the crown store for a short limited time.

Big fat BLAH ZOS. So... now you can pay to get colors and achievements hmm? Cause that's what it is for me. Being vamp or ww doesn't make you better than anyone else, so that part isnt exactly P2W. I say this as I grit my teeth though.

I think this is honestly a move to combat the extortion and scamming that still occurs from players when it comes to selling their bites.

I don't like that it's in the store, but I'd rather ZOS get the money than some newbie getting fleeced out of all their gold.

Hm. For once this is the first Crown Store item that I disagree with.

If it were just a cosmetic of having Vampirism or Lycanthropy, then that would be okay. However, these come with Skill Lines that have a couple of good skills.

This is a very slippery slope here.

I think this is a mistake. The acquisition of bites in ESO provided a compelling incentive for players of all types to interact with each other.

I think that Crown store bites will drastically diminish this dynamic, weakening social connections within the game. Ultimately, this will hurt the game and the bottom line as it is social connections that keep players engaged in MMOs.

As someone who has been playing since launch on consoles non-stop, with well over 500 hours logged and over 300 of those on a single character; who from week 1 was trying to get a vampire bite on my main; spent dozens of hours waiting at spawn points never seeing a blood spawn appear and dozens more sitting at the shrine only to get repeatedly scammed; who became so frustrated with the experience after trying every in-game night for more than a month, just gave up on the whole idea and changed my desired build to adapt to it, I am thrilled this is finally in the crown store.

I already have been bitten by a friend on an alt in another faction, did the quest and became a vampire the "legit" way. I have literally no desire to try doing so again on my main. This will save me time, and more importantly sanity, being able to just buy it from the store. That is literally the definition of convenience.

You can call literally anything a convenience.
"Want a top level character but don't want to invest the time and effort? Just buy it, its convenience.
Want a monster helm and shoulder, cool its in the crown store now, because who wants to waste all that time and sanity grinding for it when you can just buy it! Convenient!"

I'm sorry you had such a hard time getting a bite, that is crappy. But that's the way they designed it. As someone who has been here since PC launch, has about 60 days of playtime on a single character and has had to go through the same thing as everyone else to get a bite in this game, this is bogus. (only reason i mention my playtime is bc for some reason you thought yours was valid for your own argument)

My point is only this, they keep saying they wont add anything but convenience items. Anything can be called a convenience. Getting a bite this way, with no effort on your part but your credit card info, to get an entire skill line plus an achievement and a color (obviously only if its the first time) not even having to do a quest! is just, well its disheartening.

Whatever. ZOS is just running this game into the ground and we are all along for the ride anyway.

As a stam DK, I need Caltrops and Vigor. However, I don't PvP and even if I started, with my play hours it would take me forever to reach the necessary rank. Can I kindly request ZOS to save my time, and more importantly sanity, and put maxed out Alliance War skill lines in the crown store? It would be a great convenience to me. Thank you.

As for bites, I'll just keep giving them away for free. If any aspiring AD wolves or DC wolves and vamps feel like saving 1500 crowns, give me a shout.

Yeah, I think that if they do this, they should remove any skill lines related to WW and Vampire and make the entire condition nothing more than cosmetic.

im glad they put vampirism and lycanthropy in the crown store cuz now the scammers cant scamm gold outta people anymore i for one agree whole heartedly that this should remain in the crownstore forever those who dont want it likily dont cuz they cant scam anymore bethesta and zenimax u both rule!
