Any reason to craft VR 16 armor?

I'm using VR 15 armor because I know that the set bonus values have very little change from the 1 level gap, indicated by this here: http://esoitem.uesp.net/viewlog.php

According to ZOS crafted VR16 gear is the "best in the game" but in reality yes it can be good but only at gold level. Purple level is literally 30 points or less stronger than purple VR15. So VR16 is worth it only at gold level. Hope you got 56 gold tempers.

For me making epic v16 helped me clear vet ip and wgt as a tank. I would recomend making v15 however i only made it epic and not yellow, i hate the fact the sets you can craft are boring compared to the imp city dungeon drops - saving my temps for somthing new in the next dlc

You have to look at the difference in set bonuses, but also in the vet15 vs 16 gold enchants. IMO it isn't worth settling for the lower leveled gear just to save a bit of gold.

You can only use v16 glyphs on v16 equipment. There may not be much difference in the v15 to v16 equipment, but when you add in the enchantments, the difference is more substantial.

As listed above, there are several reasons to craft V16 armor. At gold level and with enchants it is noticeably better.

It sounds like a more relevant question might be, do you need to craft V16 armor to complete the content you want to do? That probably depends on what you are trying to accomplish. A more casual player might be perfectly fine staying with V15 gear.

It's not the Kuta, it's the v16 Potency runes. And you can ONLY enchant v15 /w like, and v16 /w like.

By value, if you mean effect's worth, then yes.

Making glyphs gold previous to v16 seems like a huge waste of a kuta to me. V16 gear isn't hard to get. In one week, (at a total of approx 9 hours) i can have 7 v16 peices made, so I guess if 9 hours in a day, then one day.

For armor, definitely Purple VR16 with Gold enchants. Most of the stat difference comes in the enchantment potency, not in the actual armor/set stats.

Gold VR16 with Gold enchants will be ideal if you can afford it, but if you have limited resources, then leaving the gear at purple is just fine.


However, for weapons, Gold VR16 (enchantments don't matter much) is a must-have. And if you are limited on resources, I would make sure that your weapons are Gold VR16 before doing anything with your armor (hell, you can even leave your armor at VR14, if that helps you afford Gold VR16 weapons).

Gold VR16 weapons are literally 220 more damage than their Purple counterpart. Get gold v16 weapons. Please.

Personally too lazy to gather 800+ materials to craft a whole v16 set then upgrade it with a ton load of legendary resins that I don't even have.

I'd probably stick with a bikini if I were you, vet 16 epic, unless you have the legendary chicken wings to upgrade it all... expensive business out here in the streets of Orsinium.

Might I suggest a thong? Less fabric should lower the cost considerably!
