I've been saying this for years, keep the skill line per character, rank per account.
The skill points just need a UI rework of making them "Alliance Points gained milestone" per character.
hey maybe if they make AR account wide, well get enough 50's to complain about no rewards of the worthy that the devs 'might' fix it.

But this is horrible. The skills are the useful part.
Rank actually shows commitment to a character. Apart from that there is no further use... I like the idea of sticking to a char and having a higher rank on that one than someone who´s just hopped every fotm train. Bleh.

I have also been praising this solution for years now. The only reason why I'm not a templar healer right now is because of this boundary. I want people to know who they are fighting and what skill level is the player in front of him, no matter if it's an alt or not. Plus, this is a great way to increase incomes from a marketing point of view. People won't be stuck anymore on a class they've been playing for over 2 years and will get to enjoy the game alot more on a new character. It will be like a new start for alot of people stuck with high alliance pvp ranks character who don't want to give up yet to reach the rank50.

Team? Team?? TEAM???
I have no idea what abraxus is on about but i did notice that the few eu players that leveled their dk, temp and sorc to ava 50 now ragequitted playing it because they are sad of the nerfes to the class
It cant be for the reason they dont want to give others the " i zerged a grand overlord " achievement
They only evidence missing is that we dont have a nightblade grand overlord on eu (as far as i am aware), he would probably still play the class because this is the prefered class of choice now
As to the original topic, i guess it is fun to run around as recruit and pretend you are a total pvp noob ^^

There is a grand overlord NB on EU, Warbow, hes still rank 49 though so understandebly he will still play it.
Reasons why i dont play my rank 50 DK; There is no insentive to, i don't get rewarded for it at all and im a walking target fro litteraly everyone. If it would be like this on all my chars im not sure i would find PvP much fun since there is no sence of progression for me anymore, thats why i usualy reroll when i reach ava 24 on my new chars.

Trains breaking formation just to have a pop, zerk buster.

The issue is pvp players take forever to get undaunted because we simply don't want to level it vice versa for pve players, not only have you got to grind 1-v16 collect lore books skyshards but also replaying the same boring dungeons over and over just so we can be competitive takes the fun out of re-rolling.
Still on the fence about making alliance title account bound I would like it yes but at the same time the grand overlords deserved their title by sticking with the same character for all that time and seing a level 10 grand overlord who can't play their current character at all would be stupid.

PvP Rank is not a key feature nor gives you any real advantage past AR24, however, is a goal for a lot of people to reach Rank 50, or at least try.
What I suggest is to have an AP gain system similar to the current Champion System for which every character can benefit from certain Alliance Rank. For me is a matter of being able to play with any character and don't feel like I am wasting AP not investing it on my "main" pvp character. Through this change many people would decide that is now worthy trying out PvP and put more hours on it by playing with different classes, and therefore, enjoy the game longer.
I understand the flaws of this change: what about players with characters in more than one alliance? what about those who have already one Grand Overlord? what about Assault and Support skill-lines? I acknowledge all of those and here I list a few scenarios which I think could be feasible.
1. Sum all the AP gained by that account and make a common Alliance Rank for it. The account alliance rank can be unlocked after doing the introductory quest in Cyrodiil, for example.
2. Apply the rank of the highest alliance rank of the account to all characters.
3. Skill lines Assault and Support can be independent of the rank itself, forcing all characters to level up their Skill Lines despite them being a high PvP rank or can be account wide and be unlocked as the account alliance rank.
4. The rank reflects someone's experience in Cyrodiil and in AvA, therefore is representative of someone despite being on an alter character.
5. On a Lorefriendly note: alliance rank represents the rank of that person within the lines of the Daggerfall Covenant, Aldmeri Dominion of Ebonheart Pact, therefore an alternative character should be awarded that rank since its "owner" is the one who earned it.
6. Alliance Rank should apply ONLY to certain faction, therefore if someone has characters in different alliances, what can be done is either sum up the AP for each alliance and give that person the Alliance Rank for their (e.g,) EP characters and an other one for its AD characters OR only give that person one rank for one of the alliances, that way you prevent giving incentives to people to constantly reroll faction.
I think that Alliance Rank can be used as a motivation to people. Actually, a lot of players who have been here since BETA don't have much else to do, and this way they can continue exploring different classes and different challenges but without losing their goals. Check the effect of Champion Points in the amount of alters that players have. When the XP you earn with an alternative VR3 character applies as well to the progress of your main and the rest of characters people suddently feel much more willing to spend their time levelling them and playing the game.
What do you guys feel? Is there a way to bring this concern to Devs? @ZOS_BrianWheeler @ZOS_RichLambert @Wrobel @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom
