    Since dmg after CC is about the only option to kill someone in a duel setting edit: not permitting use of that set in a dueling setting makes kind of sense.
    There is no room for the "tank role" in duels anyway as unlimited resources pretty much guarantee a stalemate against such builds so outlasting an opponent is not an option.

    You can still have decent dmg as a tank, so it's not necessarily about outlasting somebody. But of course it's not my call what they want in their tournament.

    Cool, but that's still not reason to ban the set, because that's already covered in the rules by the maximum time of the fight. If somebody comes in running Reactive unable to have enough offense, he will be knocked out in the first fight anyway.

    It all depends on the consistency of a bugged CC per fight.

    I've fought plenty of wb and fear spammers and rarely experience fatal cc issues. But when it comes to reverberating bash, just about EVERY fight where an opponent is using this ability results in undesirable cc issues (delayed CC break, sliding on the floor, chain CC, unbreakable cc).

    Interesting, for me its the opposite. I never have issues with reverb or power bash but I consistently have it against WB and get repeatedly thrown into the air cause immunity not triggering in time.

    So personal preference is the deciding factor?

    We had long fights back then as well.
    As long as it's not two tanks or Sorcs fighting each other, everything should be okay.
    Last year we had a couple of fights lasting more than 10 minutes.

    So even if some fights take longer now.. 10min.

    We have a cap in place now and a catch up mechanic, so CPs isn't so much an issue anymore. Everyone should be close to cap by now, or at least 300 + which is enough to be competitive I think.

    There's a reasonable cap and catch-up mechanisms for a reason. We can't be setting duels always at the lowest possible denominator. Similar to other competitive end-game content, like vMSA, it's up to you to acquire the CPs and gear that allows you to compete. The game doesn't dumb down to 0 CPs just for you, why should duels?

    Also as Erondil said, beyond the cost of resetting your CPs, you'd have to change all your sets to account for the loss of sustain and damage. The cost for crafting and testing legendary v16 sets runs into 100s of thousands of gold. None of the players I know would put themselves through this.

    Also the effect on the duels of such a change is, from a mathematical point-of-view, very predictable. You'd lose a crap load of damage and sustain. Increasing your sustain will become a priority especially as damage is reduced and you can't rely on bursting people. So you'd have to sacrifice your damage sets for sustain sets (like change your Kagrenac to Seducer for example) which leads to even further loss of damage.

    The effect would be much lower damage and fights being more of an attrition battle, which makes them lengthier and more boring. Pretty much like what happened when the Battle Spirit nerf was first released to live.
