Veteran Level 4 Getting Bored Need Advice

Hi,

I am veteran level 4 (Khajit, Templar, vampire) and not enjoying game anymore. I played around 2 months.

I am feeling bored due to several reasons and not enjoying anymore.. some of reasons are:

1. My most of skills are 50 and they are not anymore increasing (I maxed almost 80% of all skills), i believe max limit should be increased to 100 or 200 as most MMORPG do

2. No good trade mechanism i.e. Guild Stores are slow and I never used even once, may be introducing something like Grand Exchange can help i.e. i enjoy making money via trader but in ESO its very boring and difficult

3. Veteran Alliance Zones are mostly empty (without players), I am in Ebonheart and hardly see anyone playing, initially i was thinking same experience like my alliance. Doing solo questing and getting bored...

4. Monster killing is just boring, I do not want to kill any low level monster (just sneaking around) as they do not give any XP anymore

5. PVP Campaigns are too much boring, long horse riding without fun. Hardly seeing any enemy alliance player to kill. Capture the Castle or flag Mini games should be introduced with small maps size

6. No Player Versus Player Arena, i should be able to put stake on duel 1 VS 1 or 2 VS 2

7. Summoning is limited to sorcerers class only

8. Imperial City DLC is a way too much boring, i went to Cyrodill and found nothing amazed, few quests and campaigns are waste of time..

9. After I turned to Veteran Level, i never visited my Alliance Zone except for a main quest. This is a way too much boring. As your alliance zone is only a place with full of other players

10. Public dungeons looks same i.e. same monsters mostly, no bosses, no special drops and always scaled to my level? i never able to do solo as getting dead in few minutes...

11. Mounts/Pets no help in fights?

12. Loot scaled up to level? but why? is this not makes game less fun as you always get what u want easily from monster drops. I never bought anything from Merchant except lock picks.. and why i can not buy what other people sold to merchants ???

13. Why every merchant is buying every stuff and for same price?

14. I am Veteran Level 4 and 3-4 enemies (Veteran Level 1) together are killing me easily, i am sure armors stats are probably not working..

14. Maximizing skills level only unlocks abilities and does not provide any stat bonus

15. Poor sword and bow combats, dodging is purely a waste as it consumes huge stamina and hardly I use this

16. Not able to find Dungeon groups easily, getting request in queue and nothing happened

17. No text chatting??? you must be joking, as lot of noise is always coming through voice chats and mostly i am not using it. It might be good for FPS games but not for RPG games..

18. Limited Skills & Abilities

19. Vampires and Werewolves no guild? or quests except main quest?, also being vampire and werewolf does not change NPC behavior or quests

20. Armor is getting damaged even if using Magic and never gotten hit and why can not make Repair Kits?

Guys give some idea/suggestions, if how to enjoy this game anymore..

I am ESO Plus subscriber and going to quit this soon..

Looks like you just rushed to veteran ranks instead of pacing yourself.

If you're already bored at VR 4 then sorry but this game probably isn't for you. I'd understand if it was your 6th character at VR 4, but at your first?

15. is because of the nerf asking pvp community. people were just roll dodging all the time without being damaged so stam cost drasticly increased. same with no stam regen while blocking...
16. is a work in progrss
17. there are several post on this forum asking about this on consoles yet 0 responce from ZoS
18. you can slot just 10 abilty's so there are enough to choose from. probllem is at least 50 % of the abilty's dont have a usefull morph at all. ZoS should really look at some skills (especially looking at class skills)
19. would like to see this aswell
20. equipment is damgaged by damage done over damage recieed to balance cost between roles. and it is kinda fair otherwise being a tank would cost way more then a healer and that wouldn't be fair so i get why they did this

yeah, gotta agree with @Scyantific here, if you are bored with ....basically everything at vr4 on your first character... then I suggest to find another game cause that's pretty much the rest of it till you get to d vet dungeons and/or trials

If 3-4 enemies vet1 kill u easily and u r vet4 than u dont know how to play.

You are welcome to give tips,

I heal fast (as Healer) and play good but having Veteran 1 level 4 enemies (including a mage) together just drains out health so fast.... it seems due to unbalanced combat..

You can always try fishing if you are sick of bashing / questing / PVP etc. I am one fish away from the Master Angler.

MMORPG = you are expected to see lot of other players, having good trades (making good money), getting special armors/weapons drops, good PVP duels, Mini Games..

I can not see much in ESO than Quests, Quests and doing quests....

From my experience u shuold handle with 3-4 enemies which r at your lvl

Also Leveling up is so easy in ESO (doing quests, quests and quests) which makes whole game boring..and less challenging..

well leveling wasn't as easy when game first came out. but then the cries for nerfs came about not being able to solo group content....
last night on my dk didn't even had to use any healing at a dolmen untill last boss were i just needed 1 dragon blood. for a solo dolmen.....
didn't use to be this way

Try joining a guild or finding people to run quests/dungeons with you. This game is much better with friends.

Also, try making a new character and taking a break from your Templar. I have done this when I'm not particularly keen on playing a certain build at that moment in time. This, in most games, is my answer to combating monotony. You mentioned conjuring, maybe try to create a Sorc and see if that spikes more interest. Taking a break from your "main" is always a good tactic.

But atleast Developer should do something to make game challenging and enjoyable or else they will lose many players.

On comparison Runescape is just a small game but developers did it very well especially Mini Games, Trade Mechanism, Managing Rare Drops and especially PVP...

Yeah, I agree that the game is lackluster as far as longevity/replayability are concerned. Lucky for me Im old and my uber gamer days are done so I enjoy the laid back/boring nature of ESO lol...

I don't get this. Boring and less challenging but you complain that the mobs are too challenging? If you level up so easily then you should be gaining some power - particularly in fights against mobs 3 levels lower. Isn't the challenge winning those fights?

However, if I found twenty reasons why I don't like a game, I don't think I'd bother playing it...

If you die from 3 vet 1 mobs you are doing something wrong. Maybe look up some guides for builds.

When the game launched the V1 mobs were way way stronger then they are now. They made it easy mode for the general population. If you can't beat it now you need some guidance. You should easily be able to clear all content solo except for craglorn.

As more people said, you complain about almost everything the game has to offer, maybe this isn't the game for you.

Try a game you normally wouldn't give a second thought to. There is a ton of great games out right now to pick from. CoD BO3 Star Wars Battlefront Fallout 4 etc. I wasn't trying to troll your post its just that 90% of the things you mentioned either aren't changing any time in the near future or flat out won't. I went through the same issues at v4. I do writs send mats to my brothers char and find another game.

Pvp is a joke and lag isn't drawing anyone back. No fix in sight. Trading issues you spoke of , they flat out refuse to even address. Theres tons more but I not gonna bang my head against the wall anymore worrying about them.

This is not the main reason but i believe is something wrong with combat, as if not using different abilities combinations then u die easily..

I am able to defeat higher levels with some mechanism/abilities combinations. See my Orc Build lvl 16 defeating level 38 in were wolf quest : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWqCdGTYu8c

2. Get the Awesome Guild Store addon if you're on PC.

20. Armor is damaged when you earn XP from kills and when you die. It has nothing to do with how many hits you take. When you fight enemies that are too low of a level (no XP granted), you will take no armor damage since you're not earning XP.


This is a MMO, and it sounds like you're doing solo content. That's why you're bored. The zones and delves are mostly solo. Public dungeons are usually soloed. Go try and do group content if you're bored. If you're having trouble finding a group, then go do the pledges for that day, since there's a much larger pool of people doing those dungeons. If you perform horribly and wipe out, then learn, adapt, and improve. Or, if you want to solo, go solo something more challenging, like vMSA.

Most of the fun and challenge of this game is improving your skill. And I don't mean "hit level 50 in a skill tree". That means very little, as how you use those skills matter much more than how much you've leveled those skills. I have two VR16 characters, and there's still content in this game that I'm not yet good enough skill-wise to complete (vMSA), and improving my gameplay so that I can complete the challenging content is fun.

You need a guild to do multiplayer content with, then you have orsinium which is awesome for solo playing as well as daily delve quests and world boss quests you can also do daily.

Daily undaunted pledge on silver / gold dungeons with better LFG Tool.

Then you have solo arena maelstrom.

Then you have DSA / Craglorn / Trials which doesn't give more than VR14 rewards but is still fun multiplayer content.

Or you can join pvp guild which will make cyrodiil / Imperial city more fun than soloing...

Sounds like you had same problem I did which was silver/gold cadwell zones are very very boring.

I haven't beaten it either; the point was to provide a goal to get to, and one might as well provide one far off in the distance.

In any case, the point is, as long as there's room for improvement and challenging oneself, the game shouldn't be boring. Nobody should talk about boredom unless they're literally out of things to clear.

With all respect. That video is funny, but the point is, With the right gear/skills/build you can kill vet 1 mobs like its nothing. I can assure you there is nothing wrong with the way skills work.

I honestly think the game just may not be for you friend. That was a very extensive list of complaints and although I won't debate their merit, the summation of the whole lot translates to; "I don't like anything this game has to offer and I'm bored with it." I could even say that it reads a bit like, "I've discovered I'm not a big fan of this entire genre." If this is the case, I don't believe any suggestions here will bring you any renewed enjoyment. You just don't like the game, and that's perfectly fine.
