Haha man, I get it, but last night I was running on my way to a quest and I passed a higher level fighting some creature out in the world. So I put a single arrow on it as I passed and kept on going. Not far from that, I was getting a little beat up fighting two or three orcs out in the open. They were my level but I mismanaged my attacks. So they got the better of me and I was close to death. I beat the ones in front of me, then realized I was still being hit from behind by a new Orc that was aggro'd without me knowing. I turned around, practically dead and see the Vet I has just passed standing there, watching me. I don't know if it was payback or something, but I barely made it out alive. I thought that was a bit of a jerk move on his part.

It's especially entertaining in Orsinium right now when you see a bunch of lowbies trying to take on a world boss and failing miserably. "LFM [Insert World Boss Here] we're getting our asses kicked!"
Having come from games where kill-stealing people you weren't partied with was a big no-no, I'm still trying to get a feel for when it's okay to jump in and attack things that people are already fighting and when you should just stand back and let them be. I guess the ESO system is designed so that anybody who participates in fighting something can get loot/exp without harming other people's loot/exp, but I can still never be sure if my joining in will be welcomed.
I can say I appreciate it when there's a stronger player around to kind of clear the way for me, and if I were in the position of being the stronger player I wouldn't mind helping out lower-level people who needed it. Presuming they weren't being rude in some way.

Especially in public dungeons. I see your low level ass following me around I'll just rush the next dungeon boss and stand there and do nothing while you die.

P. simple actually.
If you see one or two people running around murdering the same mobs over and over, leave them alone, unless you want to get whispers loaded with scathing insults; it's happened to me, for apparently "messing up a rotation" for their grinding, to which I responded by bringing my max level sorc and ruining their grind until they left.
inside a non-cyrodiil dungeon or anywhere else that's scarcely populated, fire away and grab dat loot/exp.
Makes sense.
Since there doesn't seem to be any downside to killing things together without grouping, what are the benefits to grouping (other than being able to see where people are on the map)?
I skipped delves after I spent MULTIPLE gaming sessions trying the ENTIRE time to find a group. I don't usually have 5 or 6 hours to play every day like some people. When I sit down to play it's usually at most a 2 hour stretch... and when I spend all of those 2 hours in zone chat like a beggar asking if anyone wants to run the content or waiting for the god-awful LFG tool, I lose the motivation to play the dungeon and figure I'll come back later when I'm stronger.
I'm perfectly happy to have any levels around in delves, bosses etc. If I'm over leveled and going back for achievements, I'l tag the boss and then sit back and heal. I figure it allows the boss to stay up long enough for any latecomers to get a hit in and I don't miss out on the achievement. Just no ninja invites
And aside, @Starshadw, is it the Auridon boss where you need to kill the grabby flower things?

As far as vets in nonveteran delves. I just go for the completions. I often level up faster than the areas, so they are not challenging nor rewarding. I just go back when I'm bored and don't feel like doing anything else.

Well that's just ridiculous. I can understand randomly inviting someone to group if they're right there at the content you want to do, but randomly inviting them and then expecting them to drop what they're doing and go someplace entirely different to do completely different content? That's flat-out weird.BlackguardBob wrote: »The other day I was making my way into a dungeon in Auridon. I got a message to group with this guy. Thinking that he was waiting for someone to help him with this dungeon we were both nearby I agreed.
So the group show as a foursome. Nice, I thought.
The group leader then starts speaking and mentioned me and said that they were going to a Group Dungeon. prolly a pledge one I think. It wasn't even in the AD area.
So I did the right thing and promptly left so that they could make an adjustment because no way was I abandoning my schedule for their pre-planned pledge.
They say you should never assume because it makes an ASS of U and ME, but really, when you see a dude at a dungeon entrance and he invites you to his group and then fast travels to another faction area & expects me to drop what I am doing to go assist them?
If he had explained that he was doing a pledge I might have went and got the quest and arranged to meet them later, but sorry, guys, I cannot drop what I am doing instantly to do your bidding.
Otherwise, I'm good to go if it is mutually beneficial to all parties.
