Leaderboard For Killing Blows In Cyrodiil?

Do you think there should be a leaderboard for Killing blows in Cyrodiil, instead of just Alliance Points earned?

(When YOU get the killing blow on an enemy, it counts as 1, and before you say "This is not COD" let's not limit our thinking just because a game has done it already.)

I (and many others) feel that the AP leaderboards do not prove a player's skill, just their dedication and use of abilities like Mutagen spamming, fixing every single wall and tower possible and just generally killing/healing while in groups that are on the frontlines, capturing keeps and outposts, etc.

Edit: I see that Killing Blows wouldn't necessarily prove skill, when you think about it, so how about whoever deals the most damage to the target gets the credit to the kill? It can work a bit like how you must be in the top 12 damage to get loot off a boss in Imperial City.

    My reason: Because, skill needs some sort of appreciation and it'll bring more incentive to the solo/small group PvPers who don't care about farming AP or Emperorship.

    Oh sure. How to get emp? Run around cyrodiil withh a group while you just spam executes for the killing blows. Every emp from then on would probably be a steel tornado spammer

    Kill stealing. Don't want the aggrivation of taking out 90% of enemies health only to have someone come in and mage wrath for the kill.

    Maybe a kill counter that only tracked kills to whomever did the most damage, but I think that would make even more lag.

    I voted yes but I think you should have included a 3rd option.

    Killing blows are cool and all but if the game could track who did the highest percentage of damage to a fallen hero that would probably give a better idea of who is actually killing it in Cyrodiil. Also, deaths should be considered in some kind of fashion too if this were to be a thing.

    True, I've been a group healer/off-healer since day 1 in Cyrodiil but I don't use Mutagen anymore, just BoL, Purifying, Remembrance, etc

    I see your point... that would cause a lot of trouble considering that I'm a Templar who loves to Radiant Destruct low health targets, so... come to think of it, I didn't really think this poll through properly - don't judge me!

    But saying that, maybe the killing blows can count to whoever does the most damage to the target? instead of, whoever got the last hit?

    Instead of adding a leaderboard based on killing blows, add a ranking system into the game. Then make people choose between unranked campaigns and ranked campaigns. Add a new quartermaster that sell exclusively sets of gear that requires different amount of ranking and that cost ALOT Of APs (50 to 100k per piece).

    Optional : Bring faction points into the game. Faction points can be earned by capturing / defending objectives and scrolls. Make the leaderboard work with faction points instead of alliance points. Alliance points would remain in the game but they would be earned by landing killing blows. They would be used only to buy stuff from the quartermasters (sieges / gear / gems / etc).

    Edit : Ranking would be earned with total Killing blows or Killing blows / Deaths ratio.

    • Fix Volendrung (spawn location - weapon white on the map causing the wielder to keep it forever - usable with emperorship)
    • Remove / Change CPs System, remove current CP/noCP campaigns and introduce one 30days with lock, one with no locks
    • Fix crashes when approaching a keep under attack because of bad / wrong rendering prioritization system

    It will be the same as the AP leaderboard, sans healers.
    The folks raking in the AP are killing lots of people.
    In fact, kill count would really favor the dps of zerg groups.

    A solo player making 1k ap per kill can somewhat keep up on ap with a group of 24 killing 20 players in the same time.

    The kill count though?
    The guy spamming steel tornado will be > solo player 10 to 1

    Kill leaderbaords for a chance to get gold rings and stuff, absolutely! But for emporirship? No...why would a healer not have a chance to get empororship? Do you realize how much dedication and money and time I've invested in keeping my team alive so that we can collectively earn more AP than usual? I as a healer I a pvp raid group play just as hard as any DPS build, without my heals or any heals being recognized, the game would turn into objectivless, gank style, non group game of "gotta be a NB. They don't need to change the current leaderboards for emp, but give you gankers a chance for better gear by having a gank leaderboard, without effecting emp, I can be on board with. Getting emporship in cyrodil is about contribution to taking keeps and crippling the other factions...cant do that without heals

    Could just do a percentage of the kill. Say the guy took 10k damage and you did 5k, you get 0.5 kb's. 3k damage = 0.3 kb's.

    Healing would be tougher as a guy spamming healing springs would be guaranteed to be number 1 as their heals are constantly firing off on max targets. I can't actually think of a good way to make a leaderboard for healers :P

    Healers, support, and non singletarget gank builds would be at an immediate disadvantage.

    This idea would shoehorn all of cyrodiil into lolblade cloak and dagger nonsense, forget group play.

    For the health of the campaign, no. I think it would be a very cool idea but then you would be getting rewarded for being the biggest bad ass in Cyrodiil as opposed to helping your faction the most. PVP has lost of necessary killing but the campaign is won through a blend of other things as well.

    As a solo player I do understand that Cyrodiil is intended for group play, and the rewards (AP) should be tailored as such.
