I'd like one, but you'd have to think of an alternative for healers. They'd be left out and not all of them are mutagen spammers

Instead of adding a leaderboard based on killing blows, add a ranking system into the game. Then make people choose between unranked campaigns and ranked campaigns. Add a new quartermaster that sell exclusively sets of gear that requires different amount of ranking and that cost ALOT Of APs (50 to 100k per piece).
Optional : Bring faction points into the game. Faction points can be earned by capturing / defending objectives and scrolls. Make the leaderboard work with faction points instead of alliance points. Alliance points would remain in the game but they would not be used in any board. They would be used only to buy stuff from the quartermasters (sieges / gear / gems / etc).

A system like that would also be highly unfair to healers who dont do damage and thus have no way of attaining these leaderboards.

Maybe a bit. But it is a kill leaderboard, so I would not expect dedicated healers to be at the top of the list. In the spirit of the post, I gave an alternative I thought would work.
Other games have / had leaderboards for everything. Health points healed, damage done, most bacon consumed, etc.
There is a lot of room to ad leaderboards with weekly and monthly scores
