check the Top row it is Akaviri, you see the Potentates handle, the Lords sword handle, the dominion's two handed sword handle, etc..

The sword looks like the akiviri one handed sword you get as a reward from the FG questline if you choose 1 handed sword and not like the alliance sword (which looks more like a sabre or katana). I actually like the FG sword myself and have long been over the mystique of the katana, but almost every player I've spoken with in guilds has been disappointed that the sword will not be the katana-like one. So seems like they made the wrong choice here.

But I do have a feeling that they are saving katana type weapons for the Dark Brotherhood DLC....

Unrelated, the ribbons on the helm make me think of bacon. So I spent 5 seconds trying to highlight what I see every time I look at it. Akavari. The most delicious motif yet.

That is THE UGLIEST armour I have seen. That sword is absolutely atrocious. Surely, they have created a new design and model for the new motif? It's not just recycled junk from launch, is it?

Nice AP costs on the Akaviri... LOL. I mean really? I earn enough AP and can acquire it over time given I don't have all day every day to sit in Cyrodiil due to having a real life, but this is ALMOST as bad as putting them behind Writs.

The other 2 motifs, bravo on that. But the Akaviri... fail. Not to mention, it's not even that nice in my opinion, it's not bad but 250k (100k, 250k, and 500k motifs, so let's just say 250k) AP -- it's not like you need 5 of them?!! Ya, that's not planning to go to the Crown store next month (sarcasm).

Adjust that, it only makes people less excited about new motifs when they are put behind really high costs in order to be able to sell them on the Crown store. Or heck if you need money, have a subscribers vendor with reasonable costs, don't punish those already supporting you! LOL


Edit: I will say again, you did a great job imo with the other 2 motifs and how they are acquired, but Akaviri seems like the worst deal. Hours per day in Cyrodiil (which is normal for many of us, but not when new content drops the majority seem to like to enjoy the new content!!) meanwhile the new content is not in Cyrodiil... I know people will still play it but again many want to enjoy the new content. Hopefully you re-think that or add multiple ways to obtain it. That aside, great job on Orsinium, it's a lot of fun!

It "could" be. But, logic says they shouldn't suddenly cease from existence on other TES series that all took place after ESO. The ESO current Akaviri sword style is simply not lore friendly. Also don't forget that the idea of Akaviri is a paralel to Asian culture. That kind of sword is not Asian. Sure, it doesn't have to be Katana to be Asian, but look at it and say it's anything close to Asian looking weapon at all. Not to mention, they keep using Samurai armor motif, that's already an inconsistency to the idea of different Kamal. If they want to make Kamal weapon not Katana, logically they have to change the armor motif as well.

All in all, i support this thread op, because i care about lore and logic.

Tbh, I don't see myself using this motif, ever. As I stick to my Xivkyn/Daedric/Dark themed look but I was indeed surprised that there will bo no katanas for the AKAVIRI motif.

It's clear ZOS knows about this as it's been adressed before and we got a staff response so might be naive but I think we can expect something in a very near future.

I made the set armor just now on the pts to see what it would look like on my woodelf vamp dk
I spent 3.5 million ap and then realized i was a few goldscale short to make the sword, and i could not use the 1.8 million ap i have on my dc char due to campain restrictions LOL

anyway, i made heavy armor chest and legs and the rest light, used a deadric sword to fill in for the missing sword:

I was gutted when I saw the Akaviri Motif didn't produce Katana's. They really need to add these!!!

Guys, this lore is ficition. It doesn't have to copy all real world culture in every detail. I'm against katanas.

Let's rather ask them to fix well documented glitches on Akaviri wore by Khajiit race.

The entire outfit was copied from the look of a Samurai in battle armor thus needs to have the Katana. There are already swords in the game with that look anyway I believe. We should be able to craft them with the Akaviri Motif.
