I love how so many people in this community seem to believe that the servers can maintain themselves for free, that the developers continue to work on improvements for free and that new content will just keep on coming without any of us having to spend a dime..... ZOS is entitled to make money of something that's so enjoyable...

I know that the ZeniMax overlords want their pound of flesh from ESO, but the players need to have commerce and players do commerce in style materials. While Laurel in the Crown Store will get sales from people buying Laurel, what commerce by players in the Laurel trade gets is active players that use Crowns to buy pets, mounts, costumes, DLC, and spend cash to buy ESO Plus.
@MSchroeder, tell the ZeniMax overlords that the players have to have something to sell each other in the game, more than just completed armor and motif chapters. Players need to be able to buy and sell, for gold, all the materials used to create these items in the game.

I don't think you (and other posters in this thread) fully understand the system they're putting in place.
You will still be able to sell the materials to refine a Laurel. So......? Why does it matter if the refined material is bound? The raw material that you pick up in the game is not. Sell the raw material in stacks of ten...... it's teh same as selling 1 refined Laurel.
It's the exact same system they're using for glass currently.

The issue here with Merc motif is that it isn't just that it will be sold in Crown Store, but that your crafter must be able to run undaunted dailies.

You'll need to learn ONE chapter on your adventurer to gain a 50% chance....it's not all doom and gloom

How do we know that crown store monetization isn't around the corner for and guiding the development of many more parts of this game that aren't just aesthetic in effect?
Edit: This all being said - I don't consider the Laurel that big of a cash grab opportunity. As Kai write, they won't be a pain to get and that means that we probably won't feel the need to buy them.

But this brings temptation for ZOS to try something more brazen, and that is going to hurt the game.
Please put the Mercany Motif and Laurels in the crown store and take my money just as you did Glass and thank you for doing it.
I have no desire to grind out hours of motif chapter hunting or finding someone to pay to craft something for me. Especially the overrated prices for "new"motifs.
It's always funny to me the people who complain about "money grabs" and crown store sells are the same people who are trying to exploit the market in game I.e "money grab"
Thank you for occasionally picking a motif and allowing those who choose to spend the money the ability to create it.
By all means thrown out Dwemer or Xvykin or the new Orsinium style you can purchase for AP so crafters have something to chase and sell but thank you for not making everything only avail to hose who have lots of free time or lots of free gold.
Provide content in the Crown store that is compelling and stop making things in-game a grind just so that people will get tired of it and fork over the cash (or just quit the game entirely since they're fed up with it).
