The great things about being new to the game.......

I am a new player and though lots of things so far are making me use slightly outdated words like 'cool' and 'awesome' and I am saying them with a little too much enthusiasm as my neighbour told me earlier he could hear me last night and was curious as to what I was doing that was so ace!! (we are both in our late 30's lol)

So thought I would start a thread to see what other new players would like to share on this topic

I will obviously go first as I have started this.......... (ps mines is a bit boring of one example but ah well)

Enchanted my very first Glyph using three totally unknown ? Runestones and created an Inferior Glyph of Absorb Health

Saw the Absorb Health after this being my very first go and immediately shouted out 'GET IN THERE SUNSHINE'


So all you fellow newbies - share!!....

On launch, the amount of players you saw roaming around, the feeling of being completely lost in this game, how vast everything felt.


And yes the dark anchors horn was awesome...now you can barely hear it compared to before.

Reaching the top of a mountain in Rivenspire through hordes of bloodfiends, turning to go back...

And seeing dark clouds envelope my surroundings as I an anchor portal formed at the same altitude.

Using the Sit ground 4 emote to watch some dancers, pop to grab a drink to find the dancers had all gone and some female character was doing push-ups just above my lap!!

The first time I jumped up a broken tower wall that looked like it would lead to nothing, and found a small viewing platform with a bow, a book and a view right across Khenarthi's Roost. A little reward for exploring. Appreciated.

The first time (moments ago so really is right now) I had a full inventory and full of lots of really nice stuff from materials to equipment and stuff for plain selling for 30 or 100gp a pop and managed to evade being caught and down to the Orc fence only to get confused as sold a ton that I wanted to launder then got mad and screamed out fooooooooook and then I laundered the rest that I wanted to sell!!!

This 100%. Also:

Looting my first blue motif
Looting the Ill Omen bow (zomg)
Dolmens spawning with that voice (what did it say again?)

My very first time I A) soloed a world boss, B ) soloed a dolmen, and C) completed a public dungeon alone. Each time I let out an embarrasingly-childish squeal of glee and swore ESO was the best thing since penicillin. Entirely attributable to my vanity, buy hey it's a MMO.

After I had my bearings a bit, the first time I carried a group of newer players through a group dungeon (Splindle lol) by sheer multitasking, I finally felt like I "got" the game and felt like I had done some real good in the world. The words "cool" and "awesome" were certainly uttered a lot.

These days, I still find aspects of ESO that make me feel the same. Looking out over Alik'r at sunset or watching the rising sun peek through the trees and bluffs in Stonefalls still makes me smile like a fool. I also chuckle at some of the messages my crafter hirelings send me (everyone should read these; they are some of the better-written parts of the game imo!)

Watching your character's hands animation in first-person perspective as you are about to pick up a water skin for the very first time and feel all nostalgic as it reminds you of Harrison Ford doing the same thing at the start of Raiders of the Lost Ark just about to switch the bag of sand for the relic !!!

First time I saw M'aiq the Liar I shared it on a forum. As a newbie that was a big deal for me because I thought it was just an easter egg but alas it's part of an Achievement lol

When I first started out in the game, I was extremely excited. I played Skyrim before, but have already seen some gameplay of it. I remember the first time I went into PvP at level 10 (sneaking all the way from the wayshrine to Castle Black Boot, just in case someone wanted to gank me). About 10 levels later, I reached a my first Dark Anchor! I was so surprised because it came out of nowhere. Starting out in a new game that I've never played before gave me the feeling of excitement and discovery.

lol nice post, slightly jealous; I miss the feeling I had when I was new to the game. I get whiffs of it while levelling my alt. I mostly pvp these days so my neighbours probably just hear '***!' floating out my window lol.

Or when some scrub door guard (not the immortal guards) talks trash to you. And that is after you saved the entire world from being sucked down into some hell domain.

Seeing Morrowind in ESO for the first time was amazing. It made me all misty eyed.

I remember I was running around the docks at Port Hunding killing the rats for no particular reason when one of them actually dropped rodent toes which I thought it was hysterically funny. I keep them as a trophy for some time until I found out they were a cooking ingredient. I then made it my mission to find the recipe so I could cook and eat them which I eventually did and sent myself into another fit of laughter.

My favorite version of this is when I saved X village/town from X disaster and immediately after I turn in the quest, the first thing a guard says to me is "Come again when you can't stay so long." I mean really??

Final note - To shout Woohoo when finding a Blue grade pair of Leggings even though I have to wait another level to wear them
To then finding a purple grade Racial Motif and screaming like a little girl who just got given the best doll in the world as a birthday present!!
