My guess is that ESO (and 99% of game developers) never release that some people playing MMO's hate everyone and just want to grief. IC made it worse because the best rewards tend to come from large groups zerging people just for stones.

killers, these players live for dominance, and love bringing misery to other players, and knowing other players and people are angry or cursing them out is the highest thrill for them.
disappointing.

PVP people hate IC. PVE people hate IC. But hey zenimax doesnt bother listening to its players they just do whatever. Many games have tried open looting and not one of them is considered AA much less AAA. I guess the only one I can think of even remotely successful is EVE. Once Orsinium comes out the zergs will have to turn on themselves because noone will be left.

Bartle's Taxonomy was one of the first creations to try and brake down players and is still used to this day, it separated them into 4 categories
-achievers
-explorers
-socializers
-and KILLERS

Might just be a ragequit scenario, done that myself. Though i never took out that frustration on others, i just quickly and gracefully tap alt-f4 and go drink a coffee and play GTA San Andreas on my tablet to chill, then come back later on. Something tells me if he dumped a friendship over a silly pixel death and stones, it wasn't really a friendship to begin with. Friends commemorate in glory and commiserate in defeat together, not have a go at you and leave you.

^At this point in your story you should have either let a mob kill you(you lose less stones) or used a port stone if you had the AP to buy them.

Yeah. All the casuals and pve'ers will abandon IC with the release of Orsinium. I can only think that the zergs will thin out since IC won't be the only way to get good V16 gear. At that point, IC will be left with the hardcore pvp'ers which might adopt the small scale pvp concept that I believe ZoS had for IC. Imo, they should've released Orsinium with IC in tandem. The pve'ers would've gone to Orsinium and frolick in their happiness and the griefers would've had their gank-fest in IC.
@ZoS You can't force people into a game mode that facilitates griefing and supports unsportsman-like behavior. You should take a look at Bartle's taxonomy. IC was simply a ploy to pander to the "killer" demographic...in a perfectly symmetrical population that only accounts for 1/4 of your players, but I have a feeling that that number is far less. By making TV stones the only way to snag V16 gear, you essentially forced the casuals and pve players to adopt underhanded tactics to get them. Hence...Zergfest and sewer camping. In all honesty, I liked the idea of IC, but the progression system put in place for it does not work. I would suggest doing a little more playtesting before releasing such a polarizing game mode.
If your group is bigger than 6 members gain 75% damage reduction.
This is why there are so many NB's. People cloak as a way to try to avoid the zerg, not because it's "OP".
