That's what happens when you befriend a two year old.
Saw a mudcrab the other day. Dreadful creatures.

OP it sounds like your 'friend' had a hair trigger temper and was just looking for an excuse to lash out at you. I had a friend I'd known for over 3 years from WoW, and I told him to try ESO out. He'd tried all other new MMO's and been disappointed at each turn. It seemed like he enjoyed ESO enough. He'd gotten a v12 (back when that was the cap), joined several pvp and trade guilds, and leveld another alt to v5. So he's got all this going for him. What did him in?

Provisioning was too hard to level.

He couldn't ever find any of the entry-level recipes, so he couldn't level (apparently he never bothered shopping guild vendors), couldn't do writs, and therefore couldn't progress with the game. He did a complete 180 going from calling ESO the best game ever to saying it was *** and it would die in months. I called him a negative nancy and he unfriended me from Steam, ESO, Battle.net, and LOTRO. He'd also stated before that that he'd been dealing with some rough patches in his marriage and he'd been entertaining suicidal thoughts.

I've found most people that don't like this game just look for excuses not to like it. ESO is one of the most superbly constructed MMO's in over a decade, and like that one episode of Batman TAS about the weirdo woman who wore a mask and said she was ugly even though she was perfect, people fixate on the flaws so much until that's all they see.

Sorry dude, but your testimonial is as real as reality-TV.

Friends in real life, don't leave you because you convinced them to buy an expansion they didn't like.

    Try harder next time.

The problem was I did convince him to get IC, I had been playing it for a few weeks, start out we would go to Cyrodill and we would spend time defending and attacking keeps, I really enjoy the big battles so did he, we have on occasions joined small groups who would rather ride around the map looking for other small groups to battle, yeah this is ok just as long as you also attack and defend keeps but some don't go anywhere near their own keeps unless its to re-spawn, we joined one group that was intent on spending 40mins hiding in long grass waiting for other small groups to run past, this is not how I like to play so we try to avoid groups like that.
when my mate went off line I would go to IC and spend my time farming the sewers etc., I thought it was fun, yes there can be some real palm sweaty moments, but that's what its all about, I got so into playing it that I thought it would be great to get my mate in on the action? He did say it didn't interest him as he had read some of the PTR comments stating that it was a gank fest, but as I hadn't seen much of this I informed him that wasn't the case, so he took the plunge and bought IC only to get ganked and camped for over an hour at our spawn point, then we tried to do some quests and got attacked as soon as we entered the city, I did try to explain that it's not always like this but enough damage had been done and I was responsible.

Anyway, yeah it's not the same gaming without him, but I decided to send him some PSN Points to make up for what he spent on IC, so far I haven't heard from him....

For all you people saying this is just an online thing, yeah your right, but it would be hard for us to meet up as I am from the UK and he is from the Netherlands, doesn't mean it wasn't a good friendship just because we don't meet up down the pub etc.
